Is anyone vegetarian/flexitarian who became one simply as a means to boycott the meat industry?!

Question: I'm just curious. People think I'm wierd when I tell them that, but it's true.

Once I know something that upsets me about any industry, I simply can't support them. This has since led me to not eat Fast Food for over 4 years, not shop at Wal*Mart for 3 and also not eat meat (cept for something that will be wasted) for the past 5 months (and my new thing now is the Credit Card Companies!).

Anyone else like this?

I am veggie, and before I use to go to fast food places and eat fries and drink shake, but now that I see so much negativity they cause, - health, animals, planet, rain forest etc,, I have stopped going there. Also with make-up, if I know that company tests on animals, or funds other companies that do, I do not use their product line.

Its like I know that my few dollars are not going to bring down multinational empires, but at least I know that my money is not going to support things I do not believe in.

There are so many other options, that I would rather support a good action versus a action I do not agree with!

About the veg. thing to boycott the meat companies... Most people who are vegetarian/vegan are doing it for the animals. There is a slim minority who do it only for health or religious reasons or environmental reasons. You do sound more anti-corporate than anything else though.

There are a lot of people like that.

Your efforts are meaningless and half-assed. What does cutting out fast food and only eatingmeat when it's extra achieve regarding a meat boycott? What does Walmart do that no other store does regarding meat? And, what is the issue with credit card companies involving meat (I'd seriously like to know)?

Either commit or don't commit to a cause. Tiny little sometimes here and there on a whim isn't going to change anything.

There is no such thing as "flexitarian" that's just another term for "I eat meat but I still want to seem vegetarian". Lol, it's true.

Anyways, no. I became one for my health, for animals, and for the environment. That's pretty stupid for someone to say that about vegetarians.
