Am I probably the only fruitarian?!

Question: I haven't eaten meat for the past 7 years or so, but I don't particularly like veggies. I eat maybe a can of vegetable soup and a potato or two per week and that's it for the veggies. I eat lots of fruits, starches, and ahem junk food. I also don't get too much dairy. I just don't really like veggies, but can't bring myself to eat meat or any weird soy/meat substitutes. I also eat nuts sometimes and yogurt (very rarely). Is this very bad? It's been 8 years of it, but I don't know if I should make any changes and if so, how drastic?

I would definately check with your doc to make sure you are getting enough vitamins and minerals. You are probably very low in iron and b-vitamins as well as protein. It doesn't sound like a healthy or well balanced diet. Fruitarians are often underweight and extremely malnourished.

eat whatever you want. you're probably not the only one, but one of a few. you are not really a fruitarian if u eat dairy and veggies 'sometimes'.

If you're eating that stuff, you aren't a fruitarian.

Fruitarianism is the pursuit of a strict form of vegan diet that is limited to eating the ripe fruits of plants and trees. Fruitarians (frugivores or fructarians) eat in principle only the fruit of plants. As with other dietary practices, such as vegetarianism and raw foodism, some people consider themselves fruitarians even if their diet is not 100% fruit. As long as the percentage is higher than 50%, they are (predominantly) fruitarian. Usually fruitarians who include foods other than fruit follow a vegan diet.

A fruitarian only eats things that fall to the ground - most fruits, nuts, some grains. So - A) you're not a fruitarian, and B) there's quite a few of the real thing. People do it to save the planet by not cutting down trees to plant big crop fields.
