You won't miss out ..Pork is one of those animals that have indigestible enzymes and that's why it upsets a lot of peoples stomachs..dogs shouldn't eat pork in any form ..and it is classed as an unclean meat by certain religions..there must be a reason for this..they say don't eat pork in a month without an "R" in it..it goes off too quick and like you I find it disgusting..
You eat beef ,lamb, and chicken all of which is easier to digest....so you get the vitamins you need..so as long as you eat plenty of veg and fruit your are fine..beware of your burgers as that contains some pork meat..
Oh gosh. I don't think you'll be missing out on anything by not eating pork. If I remember correctly, it's filled with saturated fat. And as long as you're getting your protein from other sources, you should be ok.
One does not have to eat pork.
You aren't missing out on anything if you don't eat pork. As long as you eat some sort of meat or a product with high protien, you don't have to worry about eating pork.
yeah, pork ia actually not very healthy.
just don't eat your meat when your parents serve it to you.
tell your parents that you worry about the animals (just like me) and that's why you are a vegetarian. Eating plates and plates of spinach will give you the same amount of protein as meat would
beef is an okay source of protein :D
Also, eating nuts and peanut butter have a lot of protein in them and will make up for the lack of meat in your diet. Hope this helps!
You don't have to eat pork, you don't have to eat any meat. When eating a meatless diet though, you must get a proper balance of vitamins, protiens and so on, as well as dairy, and grains. If you do your research and sit down with your parents and show them what you have learned in the way of diet and nutrition, they may be more cooperative. Btw I have been vegitarian for many years and I am very healthy, but tofu, yuck.
Animal products are not the ideal source of protein. It's second hand nutrition. You're getting nutrition from what the cow ate instead of eating it yourself. No, you don't need to eat pork. How do you think so many of us vegetarians and vegans thrive?
I agree with Lewesguy that the concern is getting enough protein. There are no special nutrients that make pork a necessary food. By the way, I'm Jewish and actively avoid the stuff myself. But I still eat lots of meats and dairy and veggies. Pork is advertised as a healthy meat (an oxymoron to any vegetarian) and is often on sale at the market as the least expensive meat. At the deli counter, the least expensive meats are rarely healthy.
Othe rmeats provide protein, but so do non-meat foods, like grains, soy products, beans, dairy, mushrooms, eggs, and fish. Cows, who don't eat meat, do get enough protein.
You could try to sell your folks on the health and fiscal benefits of leaning vegetarian ...
If you are trying to become a vegitarian, you don't have to eat any type of pork. As long as you are getting another source of protein in your diet, you will be okay. I would suggest eating nuts and peanut butter; these have a lot of protein in them and will make up for the lack of meat in your diet. Hope this helps!
When I was a vegetarian and then started eating meat again, I started on Turkey... but it took a long time for me to eat pork. It actually made me sick.
I've been vegan my whole life and am a star athlete.
The idea that you have to eat dead animals to be healthy (when it is UNHEALTHY) astonishes me.
There is no need to eat pork if you don't wish to, I very rarely have it, but I do like the odd chop or roast occasionally.
no
No
dont worry your not going to miss out on anything so long a you eat well otherwise. vegatarians live longer than meat eaters on average anyway.
You don't HAVE to eat pork, dear. It can be fairly difficult to digest. I think your parents would understgand you not eating one kind of meat.
