Vegan vitamin info.?!


Question: im vegan but i want a vitamin pack to insure that im getting all the things i need each day, is this a good thing to take, do you recommend it?

GNC Maximum Greens? Ultra Mega? Green Vitapak

anything else you would recommend?

I think taking a multi-vitamin is a good idea, sort of a "safety net". Not all vegans eat health food every day, and even if you tend to eat well, some days are not as ideal as others.

So, I take a multi-vitamin, and a calcium supplement. Taking them won't hurt me if I got enough nutrition that day, but they will help me if I was a little short on something.

My absolute favorites are from the DEVA brand.
(I've tried a few other brands, and I like these because they are easier to take and not as hard on my stomach as other vitamins).

But do take them with a meal just to make sure they don't give you a tummyache.

Never tried it, but there are supplements made just for vegetarian/vegan lifestyles. Check your local health store or organic store.

The label says it contains milk and beeswax.

Eat a varied diet consisting of mostly fresh produce and take a b complex every once in a while.

If you are a true vegan you do not need vitamin packs. Your knowledge of foods and nutritional needs will help you choose all that your body needs. Most of those vitamin packs are ripoffs. They report hight percentages of the RDA of a vitamin, but they are not fully absorbable. The only vitamins that are really "for real" are non-vegan vitamins ... they are absorbable. That's why you you need to lear how to be a true vegan.
