So many different types of vegetarians?!
Answers: Just wondering.... I know there's semi-vegetarians, vegans but not much more from there. Details on each one please?
I've actually never heard of a "semi-vegetarian". Here you go... a link with a list and description of each.
http://vegetarian.about.com/od/vegetaria...
theres no such thing as semi vegitarians keep that in mind if u eat meat ur not a vegitarian period plain and simple
some people will only eat fish or chicken but no other meats but still consider themselves vegetarian. Others will eat NO meat but will eat things like eggs, cheese, drink milk and still consider themselves vegetarians. Then Vegans eat NO animal products.
Basically whatever works best for you.
Great question. I'm not sure the answer.... but what would you call someone like myself who eats vegetarians?
One who eats vegetarians would be listed as a cannibal I believe.
A vegetarian is someone that doesn't eat the flesh of animals.
Cows, chickens, fish, shrimp, clams, ants and worms are all animals.
That's all that you need to know.
There are four types of vegetarian:
lacto/ovo vegetarian: does not eat any animals (this includes fish and chicken), but continues to eat eggs and dairy
lacto vegetarian: does not eat any animals (including fish and chicken), but continues to eat dairy. Does not eat eggs.
ovo vegetarian: does not eat any animals (including fish and chicken), but continues to eat eggs. Does not eat dairy.
vegan: does not eat animal products. Also avoids using animal products in other parts of life (doesn't wear leather, fur, or wool; looks for products that are not tested on animals, etc). A very small sub-group of vegans are fruitarians. My understanding is they eat a vegan diet, but try to get at least the majority of their food from plants without having to kill the plant (like apples, for example--you don't have to kill the apple tree to get the apple).
Then, there are a bunch of other terms out there for people who are NOT vegetarians, but who limit their intake of animal products. Many of these terms are not accepted by some vegetarians. Some of these are:
pescetarian: person who does not eat any animals except for fish
pollotarian: person who does not eat any animals except for chickens
semi-vegetarian: Person who eats mostly vegetables, but sometimes eats meat.
flexitarian: person who eats a vegetarian diet most of the time, but occassionally eats meat, usually to make social situaitons easier
Ok.....I am a "lacto-ovo vegetarian".
Here are the types of vegetarians:
lacto-ovo- eat eggs and milk...no meat...
ovo- no dairy or meat...eat eggs
lacto-no eggs...just milk....no meat
pesce-vegetarian- eat fish, no meat (my mom is that)
flexitarian- eat meat occasionaly
fruitarian- eats only fruit
vegan- doesn't eat any meat or animal by-product.. wool, silk, leather. doesn't eat honey, milk, eggs.
I hope I helped!! One day i might be vegan!!!=]
