Health and weight...?!

Question: I am by no means overweight, but I would like to slim down more. Of course the holiday seasons did not help... I typically dont eat startches (like potatoes, chips, processed white bread/grains) and stick to complex carbs and fruits... except the holidays depleated my sense of control. :)

Im also a Vegetarian (I do eat by-products like organic eggs)... but no meat. I make sure to get a large amount of protein I understand its value.

However I have had two back injuries... one that resulted in spinal surgery and I have a rod in my lower lumar region, than a couple years ago in 05 I actually broke my back.

Before those I was very athletic and that contributes to my weight gain, but my doctor wont let me to high impact working out as it strains my back too much.

I walk to class everyday and try not to be lazy... and when I save up enough money intend to get back into yoga... but if anyone has other suggestions for getting healthier and loosing more weight i'd appreciate it :)

Stick to calorie counting and label reading of servings per container. It's a life style change, but it works. Take in slightly less than you require, weight loss is better removed slowly.

I'm trying the same thing but i cut out dairy and have lost 3 pounds. So i suggest cut out all dairy if you can.

I agree with Angel_A
Cut out dairy. I lost 8 pounds in 2 weeks when I did. I also haven't had a cold in 2 years since I stopped eating any dairy at all.
