As animals ourselves, were we meant to eat other animals?!
And until you're physically capable of running after an animal, catching it with your bare hands, killing it with your nails and teeth, and ripping its flesh apart and eating it raw, i'll venture to say you aren't meant to eat meat at all. Do you salivate and run excitedly over to roadkill like a real biological meat eater? No. You eat meat for convenience and taste, nothing else. And i'm okay with that, as long as one can admit it instead of trying to justify it with lameass reasons like "we're supposed to" "we have to" "god made blahblahblah" "You'll get sick if you don't.."
Answers: Animals weren't meant to be kept in tiny cages, abused and tortured and raised for food, I know that much.

yes
yes, beacuse thas why we eveolved into higher concious beings besides animals taste good!
Check it out in the Bible. Before the "fall" of Adam and Eve, they ate of the fruit of the garden. After...there you go.
sharp teeth at the front eh,,,, do you think that some lions are vegitarianns?????
Yes, humans are carnivores which means meat eaters. It's the way we were designed - i.e. we have the right kind of teeth to eat animals and so on.
we will when the food starts to run low.
Have you never heard of cannibals?
Lots of animals out there that eat only plants! We are given the choice to eat whatever we want. It's free will!
i dont eat meat its personal choice.
Absolutely. If you choose not to, that's on you, but we were designed to eat a variety of things.
yes.
Homo Sapiens are omnivores
the only reason not to eat animals is ethical.
ethics are a function of higher conciousness.
on a basic level....... in fact throughout the greater part of our evolution.........we *were meant* to eat animals
We don't have to eat other animals, and there is substantial biological evidence to suggest that we aren't evolved to consume large quantities of animal products. In nature, nothing is really "meant" to happen, but for our health's sake and for the sake of the animals, we shouldn't eat animal products.
of course! even in the caveman days humans would eat other creatures as a natural way of life
Until you show me an animal that can talk and drive, get a job, go to school, among other things, ah, yeah.
Yes, just as much as other animals do eat each other.
Depends on what your views are really, we used to eat meat so we could survive but now its not such a neccesity since we can survive with out if except the poor countries.
I'm a vegetarian myself
But its all a matter of opinion
Well, Jesus ate meat, or at least he didn't stop others eating it. Plus, we are alot more advanced than most animals
'Meant' by who? Animals do all kinds of beastly things to each other and other species. We can't draw any moral lessons from how they behave. That's why we are humans as well. If you can get by without meat in your diet, then that is better. But if you can't, eat what is reared and killed humanely.
If God didn't want us to eat animals, he wouldnt't have made them taste so good.
Humans have very long intestines. Carnivores - lions, tigers - have very short intestines so any meat they consume is eliminated very quickly. Humans on the other hand, because of the long intestinal tracts, when meat is consumed, run the risk of having some of the undigested, uneliminated meat decay inside the body. That's why so many humans suffer from illnesses and disease brought about by the toxins from that decaying meat. Fruits and veggies, on the other hand, liquify in our digestive tracts, making it easier to eliminate, and turning the inherent nutrients in the fruits and vegetables into properties that benefit the body.
Ideally everyone is supposed to defecate after each meal but most meat eaters defecate once a day if they're lucky. Everything that doesn't come out as feces turns into harmful waste - toxins, sometimes carcinogenic toxins.
Yes. Vegans can preach to their hearts content but they won`t change me...... :-)
design or not , i love to eat animals-fish-nearly everything put on this earth , except mountain oysters { it's a psych thing }
Nobody can answer such a question correctly....it's all down to choice...many before believe that we are ment to because "Jesus does in the Bible, therefore its ok" but nobody even knows if Jesus ever exsisted..?!
It's also alot down to morals...do you really want to be playing god for mainly defenceless animals...and if you do,what conditions do you think is suitible for the animals to live in?Alot of people think that eatting meat is right because it's the "norm" but its only the "norm" because people have made it like that...not animals...
...and people have the power to change that....!
Yes. Doesn't mean we have to though. =)
Nope. Our digestive systems are meant for plant like foods. Not meats.
Some people wonder why they feel all bloated and what not after they consume flesh...lol
Go ask a panda bear.
What I would like to know is why humans seem to constantly change their minds about whether or not theya re animals. Usually when it is most convenient for themselves. Do you consider yourself an animal when referring to animal testing and vivisection? No you do not, for that would be a monstronsity wouldn't it. We are "higher beings" than animals, this must mean hypocrites yes? If you constantly consider yourself to be an animal and equal to then yes you are an omnivore, but also subject only to animals rights, and with these, I don't think you could live a very good life. We have developed a consciousness of what we are doing and we cannot equtae ourselves to animals in this respect, we do not need meat to live, but eat it anyway out of greed and laziness, two sins in one go.
Bring on the thumbs down!
when? at the beginning of creation/life :) hard question
"He has found that the Ice Man -- thought by some to be a hunter -- was probably a very strict vegetarian at the time of his death. "

"Even in the Hindu Vedic caste system that provided a complete definition of the lifestyle that each caste was supposed to follow, the uppermost and the purest castes, Brahmins, were supposed to be completely vegetarian."
http://www.buzzle.com/editorials/7-21-20...
"Likewise, another ancient religious philosophy, Jainism and Buddhism propounded strict vegetarianism "
"The Genesis suggests that mankind was originally vegetarian by nature, and only after the Flood, we tasted the juices of meat. Many vegetarians argue, based on various quotes from the scriptures that Jesus, and all his principal followers were vegetarians. By and large, vegetarianism seems to be more consistent with Christ’s message of love and compassion, and it is very unlikely that he would have enjoyed a hapless lamb being slaughtered for his dinner."
what i know is love and treat all the animals (dogs, cats, chickens, horses, cows,...) as you like to be treated by others :)
vegetarian is good for the animals! and for your health
We are not MEANT as in "destined" to eat meat. We can CHOOSE to eat meat and our physiology adapts to it.
How silly....of course we were meant to be carnivores...lions eat meat, even some birds eat meat. Had a parrot once..thought they only ate seeds and veggies..NOPE..they loved insects as well. Life is life and we humans are meat eaters. If you don't care for it yourself then don't eat it.
