SOY MILK????? answer!! 10 points BEST ANSWER!!!?!

Question: Hello.
I know I already have a question like this one...but people didn't seem to answer that one.
I am a vegetarian thinking about going vegan. I really think I should have a glass of milk (any type) with anything i eat. I don't like sweets so I don't think I would like the "very vanilla" soy milk. Are the others sweet?

> is "vanilla" silk soy milk sweet?
> are the new kinds good?
> can you make waffles with soy milk?? (my mom makes homemade waffles for me)
> what soy milk do YOU like?

the plain soy milk tastes like raw dough in liquid form....it's not gross...just takes some getting used to. I personally like Target's brand.

You can basically substitute soy milk in any recipe, just know that it might not be as "creamy" as you are used to.

As other have stated, you might wanna try rice milk (it tastes like rice). It's not sweet and it looks more like milk, but it tends to be more "watery".

The vanilla Silk soy milk tastes pretty much like the very vanilla, except it's less sweet, of course; they're both good, I just prefer the very vanilla. The other flavors are good, too, so just try them out. Anything that you can make with regular milk, you can use soy milk as a substitute. So, yes, you can use soy milk to make waffles.

The vanilla silk soy is a sweetened soy milk. If you don't like sweetened or flavored milk, try using the plain silk soy milk. We use the one here fortified with omega 3s. I tastes closer to regular milk, and it isn't sweetened.

HIGH PROTEIN PANCAKES/WAFFLES

1/2 c. soy milk
1 tsp. baking powder (add 1/2 tsp. more for waffles)
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. soy milk
2 eggs
1/4 c. vegetable oil

Mix ingredients in order given. Blend thoroughly together. Let set 5 minutes. Pour 2 heaping tablespoons into waffle or griddle. Bake until you're satisfied with texture/coloring.

> what soy milk do YOU like?

8th continent vanilla or chocolate

I think YOU are going to have to try the different milks to know what YOU like.I have tried some that I did not care for--but drank it anyway--no big deal. I prefer the sweetened but there is unsweetened vanilla. Try it. I also find that maybe at first I do not like it--but by the time you get it almost gone--it is not so bad. lol It kinda grows on you--so to speak. You get used to the taste. I have never used it in cooking so cannot comment there. I prefer the sweetened vanilla

There is such a variety available- I suggest you try several until you find some you like

I just tried 2 new ones today- Tesco sweetened one is good

i like 8th continent soy milk and Edensoy

Vanilla soy milk is sweet but it depends on the brand you get. I haven't had anything else other than that and i believe you can make waffles with them but i don't really like soy milk except for vanilla chai but i would rather have rice milk.

I think vanilla is sweeter than cow's milk. You can get unsweetened soy milk however, which may be more to your liking if you don't like the sweet. Another option is to go with "plain" flavored.

You can make swaffles with soy milk. The only thing I made with cows milk that hasn't worked out with soy milk so far is that instant pudding wouldn't set for me with soy milk.

I peronally use Silk vanilla Light.

the Omega 3 Silk is vegan, as are all Silk products. See: http://www.silksoymilkplus.com/SilkPlusF...
