Is there such a thing as a vegan college/university?!

Question: Okay, I know this question might seem incredibly stupid and make me seem all snooty, but I am seriously fed up with regular colleges and their meals. The other day, the only thing I could eat was marinara sauce, bananas, and rice. And it would be so much easier to have a support group. All of my friends are carnivores and I am finding it harder and harder to not argue with them.
So, anyone heard of such a thing?

There are vegan friendly colleges and universities. In the UK Glasgow University catering services where accredited with the Vegan Society sunflower mark, meaning they always provide clearly marked vegan options. The Vegan Society may have some advice on veganising your college.

And there’s RHAMM618 preaching to veggies not to preach – oh the irony! The question was asked in the…wait for it… “vegetarian a vegan section” of the website, not any other section!

well, i was looking at the university of chicago a few days ago, and there is a cafe there that serves like meat meals, vegetarian meals, AND vegan meals.

At Mount Holyoke College in Mass. they are very vegan/vegetarian friendly. At every meal there is at least one main dish you can eat and usually there are two or three. Everything is labled so you know if it is vegan or vegetarian.

This is not my business, but i'm going to say it anyhow. You want to be a vegatarian that is great, and I really admire you for this. However, you need to be sure you do not treat it like a religion, and yourself like the preist/ rabbi. You do not want to argue to the point of preaching to everyone you come to know. You do not want to try to force your belief down other's throat and expect them to respect your belief while you ignore their belief.
You may save a cow one hamberger at a time, you or I will never have any signifant impact in society. It is futile to endevour a mission to " Change The World." We should choose our battles well.

There are many vegan friendly colleges and universities. UC Berkeley is one - and the rest of the town is very veg friendly as well. They have a certified organic cafeteria too.

There's enough fruits at the UW in Madison or U of I in Iowa City that would probably have some sort of support group.

Most colleges have vegan and veg options. If not,try bringing your own from home, its much healthier anyways. To RHAMM618:Not all vegans/vegs are preachy, but it is fair to have OPTIONS in a college cafeteria. There are many types of people that require special diets for many different reason, just because you eat meat, doesn't mean thats all that should be available for everyone.
