Does it make me a freak??!

Question: I eat muesli for breakfast and soy products to try and stay healthy...
My sister and her boyfriend call me a hippy just because I eat organic natural foods...
I also eat it because its low in sugar and other cereals have way too much sugar..
am I weird for wanting to be healthy?

No way! At least you're looking after your body.. good for you. You're just smart, not a freak =)

People are always afraid of signs of intelligence or superiority- thats basically what the labels " weird" or " nerd" " geek" et al mean .

Keep going! its good for you.

Weird? Sure--most people don't care about their health, and that's why people are having health problems at younger and younger ages.

In this case, being weird is good!

Not at all.

I like muesli too. I don't eat it every day, probably just a couple of times a week, but it's good stuff.

Don't ever let anyone talk (or ridicule) you out of doing what you know is right.

No you're not weird at all. It's good to be concerned about your health, and to try to live a healthy life.
lol

No, I don't think you're weird. It's important to develop good eating habits at a young age to insure good health and weight later in life. Most people are just afraid of the unknown and call on others to make themselves feel better.

I cooked vegan breakfast sausage for myself about three years ago and my husband still talks about it and will sniff any breakfast meat that I cook to verify if it's "real" meat.

Next time, just flip them the peace sign and then the bird and they'll get the message.

People don't like people being smarter than them so they'll do anything they can to degrade the smarter people. Insulting is one of their tactics to degrade the smart ones. You are wise to do healthy things. Did you know it's not wise to eat sugary things in the morning except for naturally sweet items like fruit!? Sugar may give a temperarily bit of energy but it depletes your system and that's when you crave more that your system needs. Mashed potatos or pancakes without any sweet stuff is better for you. Have a glass of juice tomato is best ! It's best to have your cereal as the last meal of the day! I know its backwards of tradition. Who said tradition to be right.... no one as far as I know!

personally Ive never tried muesli, but if youre doing whats best for YOUR body, let them deal with their own insecurities(and health problems later). Hi Five!

Hi.
No it is not at all wierd to be eating healthy and wanting to be healthy. My mom and I go buy food for the rest of the family at Whole Foods and Trader Joes, they are organic food places, so i think it is 100% normal.

I hope I helped!!!!!=]

NO & why should they care what you eat?

What you do now will be the place where you end up in 40 ~ 50 years from now. But so is theirs.

Slainté (to your health)

You are not weird for wanting to be healthy. It's weird not to want to be healthy. However, HOW you choose to be healthy can be a bit odd. Muesli and soy products for breakfast is not quite "mainstream". I gather you are young ... I mean I'm in my mid-70's, a health conscious vegetarian and wouldn't eat that stuff. For instance, check out shredded wheat if you want something low in sugar and more "normal".
