Well, if you use 2 slices of bread, that'll be 150 calories.

So you have 150 calories to work with.

Try:

1 slice reduced fat cheese (80 cal)
Tomato (<5 cal)
Lettuce (<5 cal)
2 pieces veggie bacon (60 cal)

-----

3TBSP hummus (90 cal)
Heap of bean sprouts (40 cal)
Dash of sea salt (0 cal)

-----

1 TBSP peanut butter (90 cal)
2 TBSP reduced sugar jam (60 cal)

-----

eggless tofu salad (150 cal)

Tomatoes.
Cucumbers.
Eggs.
Asparagus.
Beetroot and Onion.
Tuna.
Lettuce.

Grilled, marinated vegetables.

Tomato and cheese (assuming you aren't vegan).

This won't really work with bread, but I like hummus stuffed into a pita with tomato. :)

BTW, H-Man, tuna is NOT vegetarian.

This is my favorite sandwich. Start with good fresh whole wheat bread, I do the mayo mustard thing, a slice of Swiss cheese with avocado spread on it, salt and pepper and a fresh tomato, (garden grown is the best) and then alfalfa sprouts.

Mustard & tofurky.
Nut butter.
Avocado.

yes, avocado and (natural) nut butters have high fat contents, but they are healthy fats. You should look more at the quality of the food you're eating and not so much the calories and fat.

7-grain bread, cashew butter and sprouts. It's really good!!!

I love making salade sandwiches. It's basically lettuce, low cal vegetables like cucumbers, a bit of vinegar (or low cal dressing if you like it) and bread.
It's great because lettuce has an average of 1 calorie for each leaf.

Bread

delish!

I don't know how many calories that is (though its extremely healthy), but you or anyone else REALLY needs a lot more than 300 calories per meal.

Maybe try this. eat a smaller sandwich if you wish for less calories.

Make the sandwich like they have at 'Subway' - 'Veggie Delight' - salad on bread - lettuce, spinach, carrots, cucumbers, onion, bell pepper, jalapenos, tomato, few olives - maybe some soy cheese.

My former fiancee and I used to eat at 'Subway' all the time and split a 12" when hungry and need something quick to eat. They really are good - and making one at home isn't hard at all.
