Skittles suitable?!

Question: Ok, so I checked out the Wikipedia page for skittles and it said that Skittles in Europe are suitable for vegetarians but skittles in America are not. So then I went to the Mars (skittles brand) site but on their list of products suitable for vegetarians Skittles was not there.
So my question is, are skittles not suitable for vegetarians and wiki is wrong
or
are they just suitable for vegetarians in Europe (and wiki is right)

I guess I'll know soon when the mars products start getting labled suitable for vegetarians but I'd like to know now because someone asked me. Thanks for your help.

Skittles in America have gelatin in them.
Skittles in Europe used to be vegetarian, but now apparently have shellac in them, so now aren't, although not for the same reason they aren't vegetarian here (gelatin.)

I think they are suitable.

Skittles in North America have Gelitin, they are not vegetarian

Skittles contain shellac. it is made from insect secretions.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shellac
its up to you whether you want to eat it or not.

Wikipedia is NOT a credible source. If someone like yourself can go in and make corrections, someone else can just as easily go in and spread disinformation. I've been saying wiki isn't a reliable source for months in here.

no i don't think so. I know the ones in America are made with gelatin and i don't see why they'd make them differently in Europe considering they're mass produced. mars candy brand tests on animals anyways. by the way wikipedia is not a trustworthy source as they allow any person with a computer to edit the information listed on the site

Skittles have gelatin in them in the US, Mars company tests on animals also.

Well not only do skittles contain gelatin, but Mars tests on animals. So it's up to you whether or not you think they're suitable.

No to Skittles, whether or not its about shellac or gelatin, If you're unsure still just don't eat them.
Also I know this is going to sound ignorant but I'm kind of curious about Mars testing on animals, I hadn't heard that before and all it brings to mind is a bunch of Monkeys and Rats eating candy, LOL. I guess it's time to post a question.....
