Big question doe any one know if chinese food sauces are vegan?!
Answers: like the garlic sauce, i need to know since i'll be having some tonight
Honestly, I have no idea. I haven't eaten anything they make because I wasn't sure if it was vegan and didn't want to take any chances.
You can look up some recipes online that are suitable for vegans, but who is to say that they all make it that way?
That would depend on the ingredients. Ask.
some of them....(garlic sauce) could be vegan....but some do contain mayonnaise, some of them only have garlic, olive oil, and lemon juice........all you have to do is ask them.....
If its a good restaurant and they make all their own sauces your safest bet is to ask them while there... If they make it, only they know what is in it.
If it were made with Beef broth or some other flavoring would that not make it vegetarian? Just curious.
Definately not the brown sauce...that is beef stock (cooked cow blood)
I would not try it if you are unsure. Ask the staff what's in the sauce, and if they give a clear answer, go ahead. But if there is a language barrier and they are unsure what you're asking, they may tell you it's vegan when it's not. Nothing against Chinese food, it's just hard to explain cross cultures what kind of dietary restrictions you have. I went to a "Low-Carbon" potluck (vegan dishes only, according to the invite) and the hostess's neighbors, who don't speak english very well, brought fried pork dumplings!
