Ok vegans and vegetarians?!

Question: I eat meat. The way to not get rude comments from other meat eaters is not not get crazy on us. I respect your choice so please respect ours. The world is nutty enough w/o people fighting about what to eat.

I personally think it is totally foolish to get all hung up over a title that - considering what can be seen just on this one area of the internet - even the people that are claiming the title don't always agree with the meaning of that title means.

There are more important things to be concerned with in the world that if someone is putting meat in their mouth or not - like if someone actually has any food at ALL to put in their mouth.....

Haha, interestingly enough...I've never gotten into an argument with anyone about eating meat or not eating meat. And I'm a vegetarian. But everyone should definitely be respectful of personal choices like this. : ] I agree completely.

every day there's people posting topics on here telling us we're stupid and wrong. How is that respecting our choice? I've had people yell at me and push me at school for being vegetarian, people get that fed up over MY choice. How is that respecting it? I've had people purposefully try to give me foods that aren't vegetarian just so that i'll eat meat. How is that respecting my decision? I mind my own business most of the time about people who eat meat. I don't get defensive until they start sh*t.

OMG U Eat tEH MEAT???!!! GAWD doeSN't LuVVVV U!!!!

mmmmm steak! I agree, I really don't care what your putting in your mouth so why give me grief about what im putting in mine!

(ok that sounds dirty but you know what i mean!)

Sorry, what's your question?

If only it were as simple as saying please respect our choices. The fact is, there are rude and disrespectful comments and actions on both sides of the equation. Many vegetarians are very respectful of people's choice to eat meat, these are the one's that go about unnoticed. Since they are unnoticed it makes it seem as if all vegetarians are pushing their beliefs on meat eaters(since only the pushy vegetarians are confronting you). Many people I know have no idea that I am vegetarian, as I do not bring it up unless necessary.

You may respect vegetarians choice to not eat meat, but there are many who do not. It would be like me saying, I respect meat eaters choice, so all meat eaters please respect ours. Your wording makes it sound as if vegetarians are the only ones who are rude, which is not the case.

A little mutual respect goes a long way. The way for meat eaters not to receive rude comments is by not giving them first. I have heard rude comments from meat eaters about my vegetarian diet when I don't say a word. It is a little presumptuous to think that all veg*ns go about harassing people that eat meat, while meat eater sit there innocently saying nothing.

As an omnivore, I realize that this is the V & V. If meat eaters don't want comments, they shouldn't come here. They come here looking for trouble mostly so they shouldn't whine when they get it.

Also, you've got meat eater trolls like vegan.conscript here. Pretending to be a vegan to trash the other vegans for not being a "true vegan". She (and I mean she) claims to be a "true vegan" but a "true vegan" wouldn't be using a computer. So, POOF! Credibility gone.

A lot of meat eaters come in here simply to taunt. I really don't know why. It's kind of meaningless what somebody eats. Maybe they feel guilty?

OK meat eaters... the way to not get hostile answers is to stop asking pointless, offensive and accusatory questions.

I absolutely respect the right of other people to eat meat. I don't respect meat eaters coming here to cast aspersion on out choices.

Why do you assume that all vegetarians and vegans preach to others? I don't have a single friend who doesn't eat meat. My family does as well as my boyfriend. I come from a part of the country where not eating meat is practically unheard of! I don't look down on those around me who eat meat. Would i like for them to change... Yes, of course, but it is their choice! In fact, it is quite the other way around for me. On a regular basis I am told by the "omnivores" around me how "stupid" it is that I don't eat meat. In fact, my boyfriend constantly jokes around about how he wants to eat my pet rabbit! That joke is starting to get old... and is in really bad taste. No pun intended.

OK? I don't give a rat's @ss about what you eat.

What's your point?

did i hear a discusion over food ....
the world is nutty? is that smooth or chucky jenni....
mmm almond butter and pancakes
i now whats for breakfast now
thanks a lot going to have to be staff to cook it

What is your question? If you don't want to bump into vegetarians and vegans, you'd have better luck if you stayed out of the V&V section.

You've come inot the V&V section to tell us to not comment on your choices.

why did you come here if not to taunt people ?

STOP, THINK, TYPE....works every time

There are plenty of people here who claim to be vegan but are not, they hand around just to make V&V look bad.

There are pleny of meat-eaters who come into this forum to critcise us. Do we go go to "food - general" to do the same, no.

I would be interested to know just how many V&V have you met to form such a widespread opinion ?

I live in the middle of the dairy and beef industries. Besides wifey, and customers of our veggie business, I don't know any veggies and yet, miracle of miracles, we have lots of friends. If I were to hassle meateaters as you claim non of them would hang around, would they ?

Such generalisations are insulting.

edit:
you said "Some do..therefore I posted this statement."

so... can you please stop murdering people all the time, and quit the genocide and leave the kids alone please.

Does that make sense, no ? But using your logic, i can say it because "some do"

From a true vegan ... AMEN!

True vegans and true vegetarians are not rude. We respect all of life.

Remember here on YA you have mostly wannabe vegans and wannabe vegetarians. For goodness sakes, they have one guy on here that is rude and misinformed and he says he's some kind of friend of the animals, but sells grass to fatten steers before they are slaughtered!!! So you can imagine what the rest are like. There are also a bunch of kids who would follow anyone with an animal sob story off a cliff if they had to.

Peace to all ominivores . . . from a true vegan.
