Phenylalanine is unsuitable for vegetarians- which animal does it come from?!

Question: Phenylalanine is an amino acid (which make up proteins). You can get it from plant sources. It's not unsuitable for vegetarians, it's sort of necessary for life.

Do some research on sources of this amino acid. Even Dr. Pepper has it!

all of them plus most vegetables...this is really an ignorant question that could be best answered by some effort on the internet

I'm not sure I'd go as far as to say that it's unsuitable for vegetarians as it can have a role in L-dopa formation.(see L-dopa and catecholamines) While increased consumption it has been speculated to be linked to seratonin reduction, as with everthing else, it is good in moderation. It is also an essential amino acid. Unless you have PKU, I wouldn't worry about it.
