Yes you can be a vegetarian and you donot need meat as a protein. Just do your research so that you eat healthy. Vegan wolf is an excellent website www.veganwolf.com. For research. You also need some recipes. Here are some websites. vegweb.com, www.vegsoc.org.au, www.veganchef.com, recipefinder.ninemsn.com.au, www.fatfreevegan.com, www.ivu.org/recipes, www.kurma.net (highly recommend this one), www.vnv.org.au, www.veganrecipes.com,

Kurma Dasa use to cook for the Hare Krishna eating houses. He has written many recipe books both with vegetarian and vegan meals. Go to the book store or library and look for his books. He also has a book which turns everyday food (with meat in it) into meatless recipes such as cornish pasties into vegetarian ones, and chicken pot pie without the chicken, etc

Good luck

well you are pretty active and i would say you would need the meats to stay healthy

People at any age can live a healthy vegetarian lifestyle. Just be sure to do research- google vegetarian diet and you'll be ok. Make sure you educate your parents too as I assume they buy the food.

I have a friend who just turned 13, and she made the choice to be a vegetarian when she was 6. Her brothers, her sister and her mom are all meat eaters but she has stuck to her guns and not eaten meat in 9 years. She is taller than all her siblings and her mom. She also has developed just fine, she has larger breasts than her much older sister and her mother, not to mention the fact that she is probably one of the most intelligent people ive ever met.

You just need to make sure you are replacing the protein you'd get from meat with things like eggs if you choose or beans. Im not a vegetarian, and im sure there are plenty of people on here who can give you suggestions as to what you can replace meat with - but my point is that you will be just fine, if not healthier.

you can be veegie and sporty!

try it for 6 months, like properly try it. and see how your body is reacting, if you feel good, continue.

It can be healthy to lead a vegetarian life. It just depends how well you eat your vegetables, legumes, fruits and you need alot of other vitamins too. The best thing you can do is talk to your parents and have them take you to a dietitian. I have a child and if he chose to become a vegetarian I would permit him to be one. It's actually a healthy choice. Good luck and hope to see you one day in the Olympics!

yes. many girls your age and younger are becoming vegetarians, nothing's wrong with that, age doesn't matter. hope this helps you with your decision! (:

Vegetarian is defenitly more healthy than eating meats with horomones in them. All you have to do is watch your protein and iron levels. Eat nuts, peanut butter, eggs, or fake meat which is really tasty and if your iron levels drop then take iron vitamins.

The American Dietetic Association and the Dieticians of Canada support vegetarian and vegan diets for ALL stages of life.

sure! I'm a vegetarian and I'm 13.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO woman are more likely to become aneamic...look it up if you dont know what it is. it is very dangerous.

yes become a vegetarian! someone once told me that i shouldnt become a vegetarian because one person can change the amount of meat being eaten, but since i became a vegetarian many of my friends have. and one person can make a difference!

Certainly you could. But since you are a minor, whether you should is something that you should discuss with your parents.

Of course it would be healthy. If you eat a balanced vegetarian or vegan diet and take B 12 (found in most over the counter multi vitamins or multi B vitamins - you can get a B 12 supplement from your doctor as well), there's nothing to worry about. Just watch what you eat, to make sure you're eating enough of what your body needs. You should talk to your doctor about what vitamins and supplements you should take.
