Should i become vegetarian....?!

Question: i used to be vegetarian until last year. My mom made me quit because she said i wasn't healthy.. well i did lose lots of weight but it was because of sports i guess.
Well now, after a year, i realized that I don't take care of what i eat because I don't have to chose on what I should and shouldn't like when I was vegetarian. I used to control it better.
Should I become vegetarian again? how can I explain my mom its a good thing to be vegetarian so that she won't think I have eating disorders?

It shouldnt matter as long as you can control your intake.Nothing wrong with a little meat here and there.Being vegetarian is a lifestyle not just a short time change in eating habits.

If you cant control your eating habits now ,its likely youll just have a break down when your a "vegetarian".Dont treat it like a bad diet.

But yes be coming vegetarian is great, have been for 2yrs.
skin looks better .more energy.slimmer/toner.I feel pure and clean.

Its a great way to be healthy and vegetarians will usually never get most of the serious diseases that meat eaters get including cancer. You do what you want its your body and your health.Good luck

Present her with a diet plan. Have everything mapped out so she can see that all the bases are covered regarding your nutrition. Use beans and greens to cover your meat loss nutrients.

A good idea would be for both of you to sit down together at the comp. and put together a diet or have a dietician weigh in on the matter.

You have to do it correctly. There are a few NHL players who are veggies. If they can do it so can you. Get help from a nutrition expert.

Stay away from soy-based foods (they will trash your endocrine system and leave you nutritionally deficient) and do more raw foods. Green salads, raw nuts & seeds, avocados and lots of fruit are great for you. Raw foods contain all of the original nutrients and enzymes. You get more bang for the buck that way.

An excellent source book is by Alissa Cohen, and there are a whole string of really good books by Victoria Boutenko... all are rich with wonderful recipes.
This would be a more educated approach.

You can be an unhealthy vegetarian. Just like you can be an unhealthy omnivore. Eating meat isn't the end all be all to health. There is nothing in meat you can't get from a plant based source. The more raw fruits and veggies you eat, the better; greens especially.

The American Dietetic Association and the Dieticians of Canada support vegetarian and vegan diets for all stages of life.

Haven't you seen fat vegetarian before? (no offence, I am a vegetairan putting on weights now).
Vegetarians are not unhealthy, like animals, cows and lambs are not. Cows are strong, mutton is known for giving more heat to its "predators" = mankind.
Vegetarians should eat more food like avocado, almonds, walnuts that gives more vege oils and healthy fats.
I am not medically termed inclined, so pardon me for my simple language.
I wouldn't say that vegetarians WOULD NOT suffer cancer, for it depends on the choice of food that you eat.
Processed artificial meat items, eg. made from gluten that carries lots of sodium and marinated items are certainly not good. Eat more natural products like greens

although eat vegetables is good, but your mom is also right you should eat meat also in order to be healthy, everything you eat should be in balance , you may keep exercise when you want to keep fit, but no need to be a vegetarian

Try....meat?
It's a very healthy food- more protien and vitamin content than you'd ever get from any other food- no matter how many nuts you eat- and they still wont contain the correct suppliments anyway.

Vegetarians are not animal lovers- they're animal haters.

We wouldn't have animals reered in fields and cared for as they are if it wasn't eaten by us humans.
I don't understand why you have to be vegetarian and not vegan- you may aswell say you wont eat the chicken but you'll still eat it's other products- when we kill a cow we use it for many resources- food, clothing/footwear, cosmetics...etc hardly any goes to waste therefore there is a reason to farm these animals.
It is not cruelty- it doesn't matter how many animals you don't eat because you are a majority and animals are still killed to be eaten anyway.
How dare vegetarians even "think" they can take the moral high ground when they're putting farmers out of work and killing the economy with their pathetic excuse for disliking what is totally natural- we have bloody canines for feck sake.
I think you'll also find that many meat eaters turn to more humainly killed animals now anyway so I totally agree with having good welfare for animals- if the animals don't have good welfare- the meat tastes crap and poor in quality- therefore it's a waste in sacrifice and unfair to keep animals equal to ourselves in such poor conditions- which also reminds me- if we are equal to all other animals- how come we can't eat meat as any other SANE omnivore would.

Carrots once had lives- how dare we kill them. Infact- why don't we just not eat altogther? it would save alot of hassel....take global warming for instance (apparently)??
Vegetarians are clearly under-educated and badly informed on what species they are...I am perfectly healthy, my mom's an amazing cook and i'm neither under or overweight and very happy with my size.

not if you play sports that suicide
