I am a vegan, but was a vegetarian for years. There are so few non-meat eaters around, it would be silly to make it an "us vs. them" thing.
Of course, I live in South Texas, where being a vegetarian makes you a freak of side-show proportions!
No, I don't judge like that. I'm vegan and I'm married to an omnivore and I don't think he's 'cruel'. I have vegetarian friends and I don't think they are 'cruel' either. Any decrease in meat consumption is good enough for me. Being vegan is not for everyone.

Obviously since I am vegan myself, I believe that they should try to make that extra step too, but I do not judge them.
I congradulate them on making a sensible choice and doing what they can! Everything counts :)
Most vegans have been vegetarians and made the transition to veganism when realising the cruelty involved in the milk industry and egg production farms. I do not think that vegans think that vegetarians are cruel, ideally they could become vegans too when they are ready.
i think vegetarians are total hypocrites. cutting out eggs and dairy it's not as hard as you'd think so there's no real excuse for not doing it. if they act all holier than thou about not eating meat but eating dairy and using animal products is just as cruel.
vegetarians only eat by products, we don't what an animal dies for
