Why become a vegetarian?!

Question: For me, personally, it was a health issue as well as being raised vegetarian. However, vegetarianism can be a wide range of issues for people. From protest of animal cruelty to health, to support of sustainable farming methods. I think the reason to become vegetarian is personal for everyone.

well some people just really care about animals
and also you can become really skinny when your vegetarian
and less chance of heart disease
xD

Some people simply dont feel right eating other animals. Some feel that it is cruel and mean to have to kill them for our nourishment. Personally I think thats the way its supposed to be but other think otherwise.

i like your style of thinking
as if you could give up meat
ahhhh beautiful meat

i have just become a vegetarian.
it is something that i should have done years ago.
i believe that many methods of slaughter are particularly cruel.
that is why i have stopped eating meat.

coz its one way to become healthy...and also to protect animals (PETA Advocate!!!)

to become a vegetarian is a good habit because it digest quickly than non vegetarian.it is good for health also.non vegetarian takes nearly 2days time to digest it is harmful to our digestive system.so become a vegetarian is best.

It is more convenient to eat meat though. I don't like the taste of meat and that relly makes it easy for me to become a vegetarian. When I was single and alone it was easy but I do have other people in my life and they eat meat. Well, I do like a spag bol but there's no way anybody could force feed me a beef steak! Again, salamis are ok too.
I have no special views about how humane it is to kill animals because we wouldn't be here now as human species if our ancestors (cavemen and cave women) had become vegetarians. I think it is perfectly ok to eat meat but I just don't like the taste and smell of it. I guess I would have lived a very short life in the stone age.
So whatever your reason is you use that, the above is my reason.

I regularly go shooting / hunting and volunteer to help out at the local pheasant estate; however I am a vegetarian and have been since the age of 4.

It was hard for me to become accepted living in a rural area, coming from a hunting family all of whom are meat eaters, and it still annoys me when I tell people about it and they don't seem to see the difference between being vegetarian and being a whiney tree hugger, but I don't regret it.

I eat meat sometimes, mostly when I have to; but I prefer not to. All I'll say is that you have no idea how hard it is to eat out and not eat meat in some places unless you have tried it.

My reason for not eating meat is that I simply don't like it. Nothing else.

For the right reason. Do it because you feel morally that you should. Do it for health reasons. Don,t do it like most do. Most do it for social reasons, they want to be part of something no real reason just feel the need to do what others are doing. Sad.

one reason can be that if more people were vegtarian then the world could feed the ever expanding population. Crops take up less space than livestock

I hate animals (or humans for that matter) to suffer so I don't eat anything that has involved an animal having to suffer or die.

because i am in a position where i have a choice, and in this day and age it is simply not necessary for a creature to die in order for me to get the nutrition i need.

So u don,t hurt the animals.

cows,pigs,chickens,ect.. are ment for eating some of are teeth are ment for eating meat.

there is no "nice" way to kill a cow or any other animal

because you dont have an interesting personallity? or you are just a pompous *** with no intelligence and no understandng of what you are. i.e. omnivore this means you eat meat and have to eat meat to be a proper human. Other wise you are actually a sub species

1) Because animals also have feelings and appreciate life
2) Because it is better for the environment
3) Because the grain used to feed farm animals could feed hungry human beings
4) Because it is healthier
