Vegetarian Safety Sites?!

Question: ---Hey, I want to go vegetarian but I need some sites or tips on how to get all the right vitamins and protein etc. I also want to know if it is really is a healthier lifestyle. I've heard that you get less breakouts and that you grow to be taller; I was wondering if that's all true. I've heard about it being a huge health benefit, but I need some tips or sites that would allow me to go vegetarian with the health benefits but without the health endangerment. (If that's the right word.) Are there any side-effects to becoming vegetarian? By the way I'm thirteen if that makes any difference. I appreciate anyone who answers. Thanks!

That's great you're interested in going veg. Vegetarian diets do have a number of health benefits. According to the American Dietetic Association (one of the leading nutrition experts): "Vegetarians have been reported to have lower body mass indices than nonvegetarians, as well as lower rates of death from ischemic heart disease; vegetarians also show lower blood cholesterol levels; lower blood pressure; and lower rates of hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and prostate and colon cancer."

I can't speak for all vegetarians, but I haven't experienced any negative side effects as a result of going veg. My doctor is impressed with my cholesterol levels and general health.

It's important to eat a well-balanced diet, including fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts, and grains. See the health sites below for more detailed info. Good luck!
