I don't think they are any better. One of the problems in our culture is we try to create meat substitutes, its not necessary. I am a meat eater but I am the family's cook and my daughter is vegetarian. You don't need to make meat substitutes. The only concern is keeping your protein counts up while not resorting to rally fatty foods. Stay away from eating cheese every meal. Try to learn different ways to cook tofu, work with legumes and rice. One of my favorite entrees to fix is risotto with asparagus tips. If you want to have a hamburger bun fill it with condiments, lettuce, avocado and tomato. Stay away from fakey burgers
yes they do...You can also try making portobello burgers and using the portobello mushroom as your 'meat'.. those are really great as well
they taste good. you need to eat it on a bun, with cheese and katchup, just like a normal burger, not plain
Everyone has their own taste and texture preferences. I find Gardenburgers a little too mushy for my taste. Boca burgers are meant to be a closer imitation of beef, which I can't really vouch for since I haven't had a real hamburger in 21 years. But I like Boca burgers; try one dressed up with whatever burger trimmings you like and see if they suit you.
I believe I once tried a Garden Burger, and I could see the corn and carrots and peas in it. Boca Burgers have a bunch of different flavors... right now, I'm eating an "onion"-flavored one. It just has an oniony taste.
