I became a vegan because of the cruelty to animals, and now my body odor is gone. Is this unhealthy?!

Question: Even when I work out, I don't smell. I like it, but is this ok? Or is this a sign that something is deficient. I don't know anything about nutrition so I am just asking to be safe.

Actually that's really common. It has nothing to do with a nutrient deficiency, it has to do with you getting rid of food products that tend to make people smell really bad, especially dairy products.

My smell changed entirely after I went vegan, and I've gotten bloodwork done and am perfectly healthy and not deficient in anything. I know that before I went vegan I had to use a hardcore antiperspirant to not have body odor, now it just doesn't happen. I still use scents because I like them, but the absolute need is gone. That obviously doesn't happen to everybody, especially if they eat a lot of bad food like refined sugars, but in general people who switch to a vegan diet have a change in body odor, and usually it's for the better.

It's not a bad thing, it's a blessing.

Yes, you should stink like the rest of us!

as long as you get protein...you are fine...anything else can be made up for in your multi-vitamin.

thats so cool i am a vegetarian too. but not a vegan. forget that that guy called you a queer you have your beliefs. but to answer your question honestly... i don't know i didnt experience that.

You should be thankful. I would be worried if I smell and not when I don't. lol

If you are worried about this you should consult a doctor. I wouldn't think that being a vegan would cause this, but I have read that cheese makes your feet stink... or is it cheese smells like feet... hmmm.... so maybe by not eating dairy is a good thing....either way I would consult your doctor.... but I wouldn't think that lack of b.o. would be too much to worry about!

It means that you made that dietary switch before you got so toxic. Most people spend years dumping toxins in one healing crisis after another after cleaning up their diets.
Keep drinking plenty of water, and eat plenty of raw veggies, nuts and fruit and you will do just fine. Stay away from soy products because they will mess with your endocrine system.

Either that or your nose doesn't work.

No! It is OK

Odor is caused by bacteria, not by dietary nutrients or lack thereof.

Did you try a new deodorant, such as a Thai crystal?

That's good when you became vegan and your body odor is gone, it means you have a very healthy body. Once I consulted to my doctor when I had a lymph tumor and he strongly advised me to became a vegan like you did, but still I had my odor and I asked him why. He explained, if vegan/vegetarian is our diet selection and we've still any body odor, it means there's something wrong with our body & health, it's a kind of a sign from our body to tells us something unhealthy going aorund inside our body. So you are blessed with your healthy.

So you've discovered meat made you stink!
That is true for many! It's less healthy to stink than not to stink! I wish I could get rid of my bad order that easy but I have low chloresterol so when I sweat I really stink. It was worse when I was a meat eater people couldn't stand near me when I sweated! Now they can!

um...idk i've been vegetarian for a day and my family doesn't get it why i am

A lot of our natural odors are dependent on what we eat. That's normal.

it's because your diet is so healthy there are no toxins for you to excrete.. I think it's okay..

Make sure your diet is well rounded, and you're getting a good balance of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, and some healthy fats (like the fat that tofu has)...

You can eat fish....because they eat each other....so its okay.

No, there is nothing wrong with you. You're the chosen one by God. You're a gifted child.
