Which Bay? North Bay? ;)

Bay area CA? If so there are great places all over! Open up the phone book, try Berkeley and S.F.

Go to www.viewfromthebay.com and look up today's recipes. The chef they had on this afternoon works for a total vegetarian restaurant. I just can't remember the name right off since I'm in the north bay area.

if u mean a vegetarian/vegan restaraunt, then idk
however
most restaraunts will accomadate to your requests to remove meat from a certain item, and most also have vegetarian dishes anyway.
alot of thai places have a whole page of vegetarian choices.

if u have questions about a dish, just ask the server to ask the chef.

hope i helped

Congrats on going vegetarian. I'm not sure which places are good, but here's a list of vegetarian-friendly restaurants in the San Francisco area:

Hope that helps.

Besides Happy Cow, there's www.vegdining.com.

I understand the SF Bay Area has tons of veg*an and veg-friendly restaurants.

Any Indian restaurant will have many vegetarian dishes. And the bay area has sooooooooo many Indian restaurants. Not necessarily Vegan...because Indian vegetarian food has quite a bit of butter and cream.

Cafe Gratitude http://www.cafegratitude.com/

The suggestion of Indian restaurants was great. Also most Thai restaurants have many vegetarian options.

Many Italian or California Cuisine type restaurants have meat free entrees, but always be wary that a meat stock might be used in their soups and rice dishes. Ask to be on the safe side.

The Rainbow Grocery in San Francisco is one of the oldest natural food coops in the SF Bay Area.

They are a meat-free environment where you can find support and info.

I have yet to come across a single restaurant (with the exception of those that are specifically called steakhouses or meathouses) that does not offer at least one vegetarian option. If they aren't on the menu, they can be requested.

Wow, the Bay area is very friendly to vegetarians, it has got to have the highest number of veggie restaurants per square mile! Here's the link to the VegDining.com directory for the San Francisco Bay Area:

I wish you luck and congratulations on your choice to switch to a compassionate diet!
