Ovo vegetarians are vegetarians who eat eggs but, does not meat or dairy products. For some eliminating diary can be difficult, but it is well worth it, due to the health problems and diseases that came from diary as well as meat.

Dairy includes, milk, cheese, margarines, whey, etc, here is at the bottom of this article list some good dairy alternatives:

And meat is pretty much the flesh, bones and muscle tissue of any animal, but it may also refer to non-muscle organs, including lungs, livers, skin, brains, bone marrow and kidneys. That includes animals such as cows, pigs, fish, deer, dogs, cats, chickens, humans, horses, ducks, etc. Here is a list of meat animals you avoid consuming:

Good luck!

Alright so it sounds like you've done some research. You need to start cutting things out. The obvious are beef, fish, chicken, pork and dairy if you are ovo only. The not so obvious are gelatin's, casein, whey....this is a pretty good site

What you need to understand is that no one follows the same diet. We all eat differently because of what we like, the time we have to cook, how balanced we want our diet to be. No one here can tell you what to eat, you need to do some research and find out what you can make at home, what you like...it takes time to be balanced, some thought, and no one can do that for you.

But always remember that cutting certain things out of your diet can be hard. We have our comfort foods and sometimes its hard to let them go, but you will find new ones, better ones :)

good luck!

To be an ovo-veggie you need to cut out all meat, fish, poultry, slaughter byproducts and dairy products.

The level of difficultly depends on your current eating habits.

If you cook a lot from raw basic ingredients ( rather than processed foods ) it will nto be too bad, there are plenty of dairy alternatives.

If you eat a lot of processed foods then you'll need to look for the "suitable for vegetarians" labels and figure out if there is dairy in the ingredients. Not impossible, it jsut requires a little extra time when shopping. This soon becomes second nature.

best of luck with it.

I'm not sure what ovo means. But vegetarian is just vegetables. So no meat.Or one can go partial vegetarian.Fish, poultry and animal biproducts like milk. For the sake of the protein content. Some people have to have protein. The body needs some protein for tissues. But they can get that with out red meat.I don't eat red meat.I don't particularly care for it but I will eat poultry, and fish.
