I know fruits and veggies are good for u but what else?!
Thanks
Answers: I'm trying to eat better but not sure what to eat other than fruits and vegs.
Thanks
The first answer is good (depending on whether you are vegetarian or not, pick and choose your protein sources I suppose).
I'd also add in - eat lots of whole grains and avoid refined sugar (check ingredients labels - if it has corn syrup or high fructose corn syrup, don't eat it).
Avoid diet pop and regular pop, cut down on sweets, go for real dark chocolate (60% cocoa content) over milk chocolate for the antioxidant health benefits.
Don't drink your calories (pop, sugary beverages, lattes, etc).
Try for variety - don't eat apples and iceberg lettuce, or worse yet, processed, pasteurized orange juice and iceberg lettuce, and think that it's good enough for "Fruits and Vegetables". Try for fresh fruits - eat a wide variety, from pears to bananas to oranges to grapes. Eat a wide, colorful variety of vegetables too, and go for dark, leafy greens (kale, romaine lettuce, spinach) as opposed to iceberg lettuce.
Beans, legumes, nuts, lean meat like chicken and fish, tofu, soy protein. And lots of water.
Legumes--peas, beans. Dairy products--cheese, yogurt, milk, Grains-oats, barley, etc Fish is good for you. Water, water, water. Limit processed junk, canned foods. Stay on the perimeters of your supermarket, when you start walking through the aisles thats where the junk is.
you also need dairy and protein.
milk, cheese, yogurt, you should have at least 3 glasses of milk a day, then something else dairy.
and for protein, that can be achieved by having a piece of meat like chicken or beef everyday. :D
100 percent whole wheat bread. low-fat yogurt, beans, lots of water and lean protein (chicken or turkey). fish is also rly good.
That's the best don't search anything till it comes naturally !!!
Whole grains, legumes
All you really need to do is avoid high sodium and processed foods.
Fibre is a must for the digestive system. But I like a bowl of porridge for breakfast made with water and a little cream boiled until cooked and then add a little fruit yougurt to give it that extra flavor. That will set you up for the morning if eaten for breakfast.
Happy Eating.
Water and porridge oats
Nuts, grains, oatmeal ,beans, herbs, certain spices, some soy, grits/polenta in its cooked state, and lean meats are good for you as well but everything should always be eaten in moderation.
Eat whole grains, like wheat bread and pasta and brown rice. People have the misconception that all carbs are bad, but you should actually get 9 servings of the good type of carbs every day.
Nuts and beans are also awesome for you. Walnuts are very, very good.
Dark cholet for your blood. No joke
Greens. Lots of dark leafy greens.
Quite often, it's not what you're eating, it's what you're NOT eating that makes you healthy.
