What do you love about being a veg or vegan?!

Question: I was wondering what all you veggies love about your choice to become a veg or vegan?

I love that I do not support industries that I am against. An industry built environmental catastrophe and on suffering, it used to bother me a lot.

I really love the food and thinking back makes me laugh, I can really enjoy a piece of tofu, big salad and quinoa or wild rice and just love it, but 15 years ago, I don't think that I had ever even tried tofu (small town).

I love how I have settled into my vegan comfort, and when people attack me for this, I can just smile and know that I am happy in this and I feel fulfilled, I don't need to explain or get angry back.

I love how I feel energetic every day, I love having a healthy relationship with my food and eating healthy, balanced meals.

I love knowing that because of my decision, throughout my lifetime thousands upon thousands of dollars won't go into the deep pockets of the meat, dairy and egg industry.

I love cooking and having variety and not being in a meat and a side of two veggies rut. I love that vegetarianism (and then veganism) introduced me to ethnic cuisine like Peanut-Tofu Pad Thai, Chinese bean curd stir fry, Japanese miso soup, and countless Indian dishes.

I concur that comfortable feeling you have, I have it myself, to where I can accept people's food choices and still feel confidant and happy with my own decision. I'm happy to be myself and I feel that I am old enough and confidant enough to not feel threatened by opposing viewpoints (and we vegans are a minority so there are many). In fact I feel that I have become more understanding and embracing of others.

6 years and counting for me. My wife converted about 2 years ago.

I don't care what other people eat and never try to convert anyone. However is someone starts asking, I tell them all the reasons.

I suggest they watch the PETA video "Meet your Meat" and then get back to me.

I love not harming animals for food, clothing, recreation.

To be honest, I don't really think about it like that. It just is. Maybe it's been long enough to where it's just second nature and I don't put that much thought into it.

Watch the documentary "Earthlings" and this should provide you the answer you seek.

Earthlings (2003)

"Narrated by Academy Award Nominee Joaquin Phoenix and featuring music by the critically acclaimed platinum artist Moby, EARTHLINGS is a documentary film about humankind's complete economic dependence on animals raised for pets, food, clothing, entertainment and scientific research. Using hidden cameras and never-before-seen footage, EARTHLINGS chronicles the day-to-day practices of the largest industries in the world, all of which rely entirely on animals for profit. Powerful, informative, controversial and thought-provoking, EARTHLINGS is by far the most comprehensive documentary ever produced on the correlation between nature, animals and human economic interests."

I wish I could be Vegetarian, just cuz it is so healthy for you. But its really hard for me, cuz I'm a meat and potatoes girl. Maybe I should just try cutting out diff meats and trying to add more fruits and veggies?? I may try that. And I think if you are, or not, its just up to the person. I personally can't eat pork, cuz it kinda grosses me out. But I'm not at all offended when others do. Everyone has thier own lives...

Still new to this but I love how much better I feel just a few days in. I guess in a point I've very lucky my sister in law is a cook so she has given me tons of ideas for things to make so I'm enjoying trying new things and my kids are loving it as well.

what's not to like about being a vegetarian

I Love Being a Vegetarian

I'm Not Realy A Lover Of Meat Anyway So Even If I Wernt A Vegetarian I Still Would Eat Meat

I Dont Belive In Animals Being Killed For Our Sake But I Dont Start Arguments And Fights With People I See eating Meat Becasue Its There Choise Just Like i Madethe Choise Of Becoming A Vegetarian

I Love Vegetables Becasue There Are Many Ways To Have Them Not Just Raw and i Love Fruit Aswell

it was never a choice for me, but I am so very happy that I have been a veggie all my life. its onyl as I learn more I can really understand the great benefits of not eating animals.

My own ethics, health, and environment. - it all adds up.

Sometimes people understand the benefits, sometimes they don't.

it does make me sad to see cruelty of any kind. - human or animals, and knowing i am not part of that, is a very good way of living life.

I love that this is how God would want it, and that I am doing something that brings peace to the world as well as myself.

I love that I do not support the animal product torture industry that I am against. An industry built environmental catastrophe and on the suffering of many innocent lives, that contributes to world hunger.

I love how much this lifestyle makes me happy. Not only for the above reasons, but like Ghandi said, there is something spiritual and peaceful about not eating animal products. In a way it is also a challenge, since the majority of the world is not veg*an, but a challenge I am ready to take on, live, fight, spread the word.

I love the food! I never really enjoyed food before. Then I became a vegan. Eating food with no animal products taste sooo much better than people are aware. It isn't nauseating, I get sick less, it is more fulfilling without feeling bloated or clogged up. The foods are incredibly delicious!

I still have ways to go on my vegan journey, I am new to veganism still, it has not even been a year. But, I am very proud and happy with myself and where I currently am with my vegan lifestyle, given my current situation. I wish I could, and plan to spread the truth to people and bring peace onto them and the world!

I'm not a vegetarian, but I love vegetables. If I were a vegetarian, I suppose I would love the food most.

The super cool title. It sounds badasz and hardcore.
