How do I tell my mom I want to be a vegetarian?!
Answers: I've never really liked meat, and I've decided that I'd like to be a vegetarian. I've researched it a lot, but I don't know how to tell her.
just tell her straight out and when you tell her
talk about what you know and sound mature.
i was sooo scared when i told my dad
because he is in love with meat and believes
that there is no other way to get protein.
obviously he is wrong.
anyways,
i just told him straight out. i was really nervous and shaking.
but i said that "i've been thinking about it for a while
and i really want to do this. i want to be vegetarian.
i want to be a healthier person and i love the animals.
and im going to stick to it."
turns out, he is the most supportive in my family
and buys the food for me.
good luck!! & if she says anything bad.
who cares... do what you believe in and know is right!

You Should Compile all You Research give it to your mother and talk to her about it up front
Tell her that you would like her attention for a serious conversation and advise her of your thoughts.
"mom,"
"yes honey?"
"i want to be a vegetarian because i don't like meat and i feel bad for animals"
"make ur own food then"
"ok...cool."
the end! : )
Tell her you don't like meat and that you want to be a vegetarian, if she doesn't like it, then tough.....its your choice, not hers....
Just tell her that you dont like meat and maybe she will understand how you feel about not wanting/liking to eat meat.
say: "mom, everyone is different. and in this case, i hope you accept my desicion of being a vegetarian. i love you mom!"hahaahhaha
I don't understand why it's such a big deal for some parents. When I went vegetarian (I'm not anymore, but I was for a long time, I was vegan, also), my parents acted so stupid about it. It was ridiculous. I hope your parents don't act like mine did.
"moooooooooooooooooooom"
"Yes honey?"
"Can I be a veggietarian?"
"Yes honey"
"Thaaanks mommm!"
Sorry I've been watching too much southpark.
Repeat after me:
'Mom, I want to be a vegetarian.'
Good luck.
Hi.
Luckily my mom was a vegetarian when I wanted to become one, here is what I think you should do:
at dinner time tell her that you want to become a vegetarian and then back up what you said...like tell her the reasons.
I hope this helps!!!!! =]
Start taking an interest in cooking. Get some delicious recipes that are super nutricious and make them for dinner, i. e, EGGPLANT PARMISIAN. Made right it's the most delicious delicious meal around... and so good for you. Get a good vegetarion book or go online. I'm sure Rachel Ray and Martha Stuart can help you. also. Educate your mom on the nutritional values of vegetarian food and bring her up to date on the risks of eating meat. Good Luck!
Show her your research etc... and just let her know that at dinner time etc you want extras on the veggies and no meat- should not be a problem and for some of us a new way to make veggies into the main casserole! My son asked the same and showed me some recipes and I tried them (not really thinking the family would like it) but now the nights we have just veggies - no one complains at all! The other nights that we do serve meat is only for the family who still want it! No problem at all!
Tell your mom what you said here, tell her that you have done research, tell her why you want to become, that you would speak to a doctor if necessary. Tell her that you want to try it out. And tell her that it would mean the world to you if you had her support.
Good luck, I was 26 when I told my mom and she still gave me grief "well what am I going to feed you when you come over?" :)
"Mom, i'm going vegetarian."
How old are you? Why does she need to know?
Tell her that you are willing to make your own dinners if they want to have meat for dinner, and print out a list of protein sources and tell her that you would need to take a multi-vitamin everyday in order to stay healthy. Being a veg helps your body feel clean and 'purified' and really affects how much energy you have each day. Think about living your life with alot of dead energy just sitting in your stomach, and then life without all of that. Start out easy, cutting out red meat, and then white meat and finally seafood by then your body will be ready to adjust to no meat at all. Best of luck!
Mishush McVeg
just flat out tell her
Explain it to your mom, why u want to be vegetarian. explain her your pont of view, trans fat and chalastrol, and how you would if kill animal and cook it? If we dont have a value of animal life then then we want have human life too...
Value the life god gave us..
Show her this

tell her str8 up
First, research what you can eat to get enough protein and such. Then present your mom with your into. If she doesn't agree, volunteer to cook your own food. Good Luck! 8D
Depends how old you are.
When I became veggo at 13, I started picking all the meat out of my dinner... then it escalated to making my own separate meals - at which point, I had to explain it to my parents.
They still don't respect it, but tough toots. (My mum still tries to feed me meat. I think she thinks I'm being ridiculous.)

I think the important thing, when talking to them about it, is not to push the "animal rights" angle. This, unfortunately, will alienate you from anyone who is a meat eater - because let's face it - nobody likes to be told that they're doing something wrong, especially when it's something they've done their whole life and never thought twice about. Maybe try pushing the health angle instead?
Good luck!
Take her grocery shopping with you and talk to her about the difference between meat and vegan meatless and other vegetarian foods.
That depends...........If your mother is the liberal type she will probably just amend you for your free-thinking and nag you to eat protein.
If she is the conservative, close minded type, however, you may want to show her some of those gruesome videos that you surely came accross well doing research, I reccomend the meatrix. And if she still doesn't understand than don't worry, what is she going to do? force feed you? refuse to feed you anything but meat?
