Cruelty-free toothpaste and laundry detergent?!

Question: I'm trying to eliminate any products that are tested on animals from my household products. Finding cruelty-free hair products and cosmetics is easy, but I'm having some trouble with simple things like toothpaste and laundry detergent. Can anyone help me out with this? I'd really appreciate it.

Good for you!!!
toms of maine is awesome toothpaste
Mrs.Meyers clean day does not do animal testing and has a line of cleaning and laundry products that can be bought online or at Whole foods.
Method is another good one but not sure if they have detergents

I was just going to go find this stuff this weekend, good question. i just decided to stop buying stuff tested on animals. if no one else can help you, what i was going to do is find natural ways to make my own.......... here is a site for toothpaste http://www.allinfoaboutalternativemedici...

i just found one for laundry soap http://www.mothering.com/discussions/arc...

I would recommend Tom's of Maine toothpaste and Method detergent.

Here are two mail order companies that I like:

http://www.sunriselaneproducts.com/
http://www.veganstore.com/

I buy Seventh Generation cleaning products - laundry, fabric softener, dish soap, etc. I love their concept that they have written on their products, "In our every deliberation, we must consider the impact of our decisions on the next seven generations. From the Great Law of The Iroquois Confederacy" I have had no problems at all with any of the products that I use at all. Not animal tested and totally natural.

For toothpaste - I prefer Jason. Many of their products are something that you might want to look into. Again, no animal testing and totally natural.

Both of these brands are brands that can be found within all the major grocery store chains.

If you have problems finding them, I would suggest just asking someone at the store where they have their 'natural products' or 'organic products' - since it is becoming more and more common to be able to find these items in the average store in your own area. It is a market within the grocery business which is growing more and more every day.
