Worried about meat in a veggie pattie? Usually they don't have meat! Although one company did error once cause they made both and got them mixed up the veggie onces
got labelled real beef. And the real beef ones got labelled
No Meat Soyette Burgs. You can't always trust the label mistakes happen! To be sure make your own: Canned Pumpkin, Oatmeal, Soya Sauce, Seasoning Salt, Optional: Add a little onion powder or cayenne powder! mix all together and you have false hamburger. Use it like real hamburger except that you'll have to add oil to the cooking pan! If you're cooking on a grill spray the patties on both sides with cooking oil spray!
Every veggie patty I've come across was meat-free, they are usually made from texturized vegetable protein, vegetable pieces, soy, or other vegetarian-friendly product. Now, many do contain egg or dairy products, so if you are a very strict vegetarian or vegan and want to avoid egg/dairy, you will need to check the label.
veggie burgers are very good for vegetarians and anyone else!
they don't have meat in them, but it never hurts to check labels. some do have milk proteins.
There are perfectly good recipes out here.
I make meat ones often, that are more vegetable than meat, and in some meat wouldn't be missed.
no meat. they have them at the bk lounge.. i mean burger king, and they are probably fried with the meat... so its up to you there. they will usually list on the package, vegetarian or vegan, if it really is.
It depends on the veggie patties. Most of them don't have meat in them, but if ordering in a restaurant, just ask if they are fully vegetarian, with no meat products.
Veggie patties are great. They are convenient, and offer an opportunity to mix in a bunch of flavors and seasonings, together with grains and/or soy protein.
All the ones I've seen had whey in them (it's a dairy product) and many also had cheese. I'm a vegan, so I can't eat them. Vegetarians can eat dairy, though.
Well, most veggie burgers/patties are vegetarian (though some, as a previous poster suggested, contain milk or eggs). If you're ordering in a restaurant, ask. HOWEVER, if you're asking the question about whether or not they're good for you. Then the answer, unless you make your veggie patties yourself from scratch, is a resounding NO. They are generally full of fillers (dietary fiber) that give the patty its texture, but which have NO nutritional content. Patties can also be very high in sodium and full of additives/artificial flavours. Check the ingredients label -- if their are more than four ingredients that are unrecognizable, skip it!(that's my rule, at least!)
check the igredients to make sure, but they should be meat free.
veggie patties are good/healthy for person.i'm vegeterian and i eat them.
Veggie patties should be vegetarian.
But the key rule for every strict vegetarian is:
CHECK THE LABEL.
Always check the label of pretty much every food you buy. Veggie patties probably won't be a problem, but you never know.
I was in a restaurant recently that had a vegetarian pasta with sauce. I checked out the sauce and it had shrimp in it. Uh, that's not vegetarian.
You just have to be careful because you never know.
i would hope to god they would be. BUT not all are vegan i have found out
No, you don't sound retarded. It's cool. Veggie patties do not have any meat in them. It's just veggies only.
You should try the veggie corn dogs. They are so freaking good!!
