As Miss pointed out, there are numerous veggie analogues out there. I live in the US, so I have access to different brands from those found in Australia. Check out www.vegweb.com for recipes and resources and www.happycow.net for restaurants and health food stores all over the world.

You're not alone, Morgan; most vegetarians grew up eating meat, and we all have to break that addiction. Reduce your consumption of animal products at a pace that feels right for you, substituting meat-free analogues.

Good luck.

don't try and go cold turkey.... no pun intended.
VERY SLOWLY cut down on meat, and for each meat product you stop eating, find a delicious vegetarian food. I'm not sure where you live, but in Australia, there is a brand called sanitarium that do a range called "veggie delights" which are absolutely drool worthy! Just keep looking around and your transition should be smooth. And there is always the idea of joining some vegetarian support clubs. You just have to be careful with them because they will probably make you aware of too many things at once and you may feel a little overwhelmed. hope this helps.
Good on yeah!!

I have a friend who is just like that. What she does is by just being a vegetarian off and on. She adores animals and really wants to be a vegetarian, but she always happens to eat meat. Her strategy works because at that time, she is stimulating, and then finally eating meat after a couple of months. So, She feels better about herself not killing the animals at that time, but also not driving herself crazy by not eating meat.

Decide what's more important to you.

I became a vegetarian after watching a video of a woman killing a puppy with the heel of her shoe... It probably doesn't really make much sense, but I couldn't eat meat after that. And watching videos of what happens really helps you understand how horrible it really is, so that also helped. I tried becoming a vegetarian when I was younger, but in never lasted that long because I didn't actually know anything about the meat industry, I just knew I liked animals. If you don't want to watch any videos, just reading about it is good. If that doesn't make you want to stop, then you can just cut it out slowly, I guess.

eat fake meat.
a lot of it tastes the same or better.
it's really great to help ween yourself off meat.
