Are Vegans allowed to drive cars?!

Question: After all, oil & gas are from fossils, and fossils are from prehistoric animals?

That's an interesting question. Veganism is simply a means of reducing animal suffering, and since the prehistoric animals aren't suffering, there's nothing wrong with using fossil fuels from the vegan standpoint.

Yeah, and those vinyl seats are sure uncomfortable, huh?

We're "allowed" to do anything we want. You're ignorant of what vegan means. Prehistoric animals didn't suffer so that I could drive a car.

YES THEY ARE...EXCEPT FOR BRONCOS,COUGARS,MUSTANGS AND JAGUARS (AND VIPERS_

That's true, vegans are allowed to do whatever they like, because it is their choice to not eat animal bi-products, just as it is their choice to choose which car to drive.

LOL....so many ppl are completely gonna miss the point of your question

Transmission and brake fluids are made from rendered animal parts too. So are tires and in some cases the roads themselves.

Using vehicles is acceptable in today's world though for vegans as there is no readily available alternative. If there were vehicles that did not use these things, the vegan would have to choose that vehicle to be true to their beliefs.

yes we are. Why not those prehistoric animals weren't killed or harmed for fossil fuels. Really? Is that hard to think?

I believe that many will totally MISS the point that your making with your question.... :)

People make choices. That is the reality of life. I am sure that there are people that are vegan that would never own or drive in any type of vehicle because of the fossil fuel issue - just as I know for a fact that you will find many that will have no problem with it at all.

Like I said - it all boils down to personal choices and concessions that people make within their day to day life.

For me - not a problem. I am not a 'vegan' - I eat a vegetarian diet.

Edit: As I told you - some just don't get the point that you are making as seen by the thumbs down I got. :)

I believe there is also an animal product in the rubber of the tires.
