Seitan Nuggets (fake chicken nuggets) does any1 know where i can find them or if they could tell me how to mk?!

Question: i really miss chicken nuggets i've had dreams about em(sad i know) i've only been vegetarian for about a month, and i'm not about to quit just because of a craving. If you could help, i don't live in a particularly big market(Waco, TX), so i don't think there are any gourmet food stores, HEB marketplace is my best bet, please if you know how i would really love any help you can give...

Thank You for listening.

Here's a recipe I found for seitan chicken nuggets (in the recipe it's referred to as wheat gluten, which is the same as seitan):

This is a site that explains how to make seitan, scroll down past the text to a simple recipe.

I can't vouch for the taste of these nuggets, it's the first and best recipe that I could find online though.

You can buy vegan chicken strips from a company called Morningstar, if you bread and fry them they'll be quite like the real thing.

Also, if you allow yourself dairy and eggs, Morningstar makes meatless chicken nuggets too - they're not from seitan but they're available in the freezer section of most grocery stores.

Just be careful with using that pre-packaged, microwavable, processed stuff. It's high in sodium and full of preservatives and flavoring, they might taste good but I doubt that they're as healthy as making your own food. Use them sparingly and you'll be okay :)

HEB will have them. I get a lot of veggie stuff from HEB here in Austin. Also, Supertarget, super walmart, Albertson's, Fiesta, Randall's, County Market, Whole foods, etc. They are just about anywhere. They are usually in a small corner of the freezer section.

About the nuggets, My wife loves them but I think they stink! Might as well coat some gnocci in breading and fry it.

some vegetarian you are.

huh!

Morning Star Farms makes them. They have been sold in the freezer section in most major grocery stores along side the Boca burgers in the freezer, usually by the frozen juices.

morningstar chike nuggetts!! i havent tried them yet but i've bought them cus my friend said their amazing, they sound like exactly the type of thing you were looking for! i don't know what their made out of but its vegeterian and she said they might even taste better than regular chicken nuggets.
try them!

I've never seen seitan nuggets.

Or do you just want vegetarian chicken nuggets? Seitan is a specific mock meat. There's also soy, tempeh, quorn, and one or two others. Most fake chicken nuggets are made of soy.

Why don't you just go into the stores you have access to and look in the vegetarian freezer section? That's easier than asking a bunch of people online.
