Answers: wat do they and don't they eat? & r u on?

A vegan will not eat, purchase or use anything made with, from or by animals.

Vegetarian eats nothing made of animals.

Lacto-ovo vegetarian eats no meat, but does eat eggs & dairy.

Lacto vegetarian eats no meat nor eggs, but does eat dairy

Ovo vegetarian eats no dairy nor meat, but does eat eggs.

Note: seafood is meat! if you eat meat of any kind then you are not a vegetarian of any kind.

I am a lacto-ovo vegetarian with vegan tendancies (no leather)

They do not eat any meat, so that does include chicken/pork/fish (some people seem to think vegetarians will eat anything as long as it isn't beef, which is false).

Many will not eat Jell-o or anything with gelatin in it (marshmallows).

You would be surprised at how many things often have chicken broth in them (like otherwise veggie soups:( ).

Vegetarians can eat eggs and drink milk, though some will not do one or the other. Some are cautious about cheese, because animal rennet is often involved.

Vegans won't eat or use any form of animal product, this includes egg/milk/honey.

And what do you mean, "r u on?".

A vegetarian is someone who doesn't eat any animal flesh and doesn't eat any products that are derived from animal slaughter.

A funny story. -

I had been a vegetarian all my life. I was raised in a Hindu family. No meat + no fish. I moved from London, UK to America. Everyone here eats meat. My husband also eats meat. So a few months ago, I started to wonder if I should eat meat. I looked into the Standard American Diet (SAD), all the health issues, all the ethical issues, all the treatment in the factory farming, all the organic methods, all the economic issues and all the world food distrubution issues, all the marketing elements, and the political lobbyist form Tyson etc..

After my research, I am now a vegan!

Standard American Diet - SAD - yes it very much is!

Vegetarians dont eat any poultry chicken beef or any typeof meat. Probably from watching the simpsons episode with lisa becoming a vegetarian and all the meat that they sow
and the animals they came from

vegetarian- can eat anything without rennet or animal fat. they tend to not eat meat, but will consume free range eggs.
always check the label!!!
those people who eat fish and chicken but not no red meat and say they are vegetarians are only considered "semi-vegetarians".

Well I am a vegetarin so I do not eat any kind of meat including chicken, fish, cow, pork, sheep, or anything else,
Also I do not eat anything with geletin in it because geltin sometimes has animal shortening!!

A vegetarian does not eat meat, fish, poultry nor slaughter by-products

Its a clear and widely recognised dictionary definition.

It is the defintion used by the people who invented the word in 1847, so i think they should know what it means.

About 70% of processed foods have slaughter by-products in them. It seems like a daunting task to figure out what veggies can eat at first But its not, your shopping trip takes just a few minutes longer once you figure out how to read labels and know the source of igredients.

Being a veggie makes you understand what goes into processed food. I think even if i wasn't veggie I'd steer clear of most processed food now i realise what goes into it.

Someone who does not eat meat or fish, but will eat dairy products such as milk and cream and will also eat eggs.

Hi.
I am a vegetarian and my mom is too. To me a vegetarian doesn't eat ANY meat...and cares about animals. We eat everything but meat.

I am one and proud. (LOL)

No i am not a wannabe

~ I hope this helps!!!

*Edit*
I chose not to eat meat, fish,or eggs.

somebody sent this to me via email and I guess it is as simple an explanation as one can make.

"Omnivores are people who like their teeth to bite into meat
Vegetarians are people who like their teeth to bite into something else"... or something like that

a vegitarian doesn't eat any products that are derived from animal slaughter.
