Do you believe that organic or natural products are usually more expensive than junk/processed foods and why ?!

Question: Of course because they cost more to produce and people are willing to pay more for supposedly high quality products. But not all "organic" or "natural" is good quality wise. It has gotten to the point where labeling produce "organic" is used a as marketing gimmick to attract customers and charge higher prices for products no different from mass produced ones. And those who do not really pay attention to the stuff that they buy but are merely following the latest "cool" trend are the ones falling for this. People see "all natural" and "organic" and they immediately go nuts.
Not all processed foods and mass produced "junk" are low quality either. Even the so called health drinks and foods (like your fake meats and meat substitutes) plus vitamins, supplements and even "natural" tofu are all processed before they hit the shelves. Mass conveyor belt production is how most of these products are becoming more available in more areas in substantial amounts. If not, they would be scarce and by law of supply and demand, very very expensive.

Yes it is more expensive than crappy junk food, it's because more effort is put into producing it and essentially people WILL pay more for better foor that is good for you and tastes better. it's a given.

yes, generally they are. it is cheap to make potato chips and pop, compared to these so-called organic products. why? because the ingredients in the junk stuff is cheap and the stuff is mass produced. organic products generally use more expensive ingredients and are produced by smaller manufacturers. although if you eat smart, shop around and make good choices you can eat well without spending a bomb. junk food is cheaper, but it can add up and if you eat a lot and frequent fast food joints you can spend a lot very quickly.

yes it is because it is harder to keep the bugs out of the foods that are organic. do like i do grow a garden in your yard or in pots. it is cheaper and better for you.

It depends on where you are shopping. Now there are a lot more generic brands of organic food that are more affordable. There is a Safeway brand and the food tastes pretty good.

Yes bcoz it costs more to produce , can be produced only in smaller quantities so is more expensive.

Yes they usually are. Most producers of organic foods work on a smaller scale, and thus cannot afford to sell everything at the cut rate levels of Monsanto. Also, organic and natural foods are unlikely to have the additives and preservatives that increase shelf life, thus making them costlier.

I agree.

Reasons:

1. organic food has the price jacked up for marketing purposes (more expensive = better).
2. junk foods use the cheapest materials they can get their hands on. The price of junk foods are jacked up even more than organic foods! That's how they make their billions.
