What is the best way for me to switch from being a vegetarian to a vegan diet?!

Question: I have been a vegetarian for almost 20 years. I've given up eggs with no problem, but I really don't like the taste of soy milk, not even the chocolate flavored one. Any suggestions?

Start mixing it with your milk and then lessen the milk slowly over the next weeks. Eventually you will get used to it and even like it. After 7 years of it, I don't like the taste of milk now.

Have you tried different brands of soy milk? They all taste different.

try ricemilk, vanilla flavor =D

I kinda liked Rice Milk. But not enough to completely give up milk.

I have the same issue as you do. I think I'll try that person's idea of mixing soy and milk and lowering the amount of milk.

Try rice milk, I love it. I drank skim and I find it isn't as thick or chalky as soy. It's fortified so it give good nutrition. You should just do it, it feels great! good luck, good lifestyle choice.

i was only vegeterian for a few months before i decided to go vegan, i cant beleive youve been a vegeterian so long!!!, youll succeed really well!, i find it hard as i did it so quick, but i feel great and love it xxxxxxxx
i started out with rice milk,,,, but. im sorry, i just wasnt enjoying my cuppa tea anymore
i tried soy milk, and im lovin it, there are so many different brands, some are real close to the dairy milk taste, im in australia, i like - freedom foods, smooth white soy drink
even vita soy is good,
so good is really soy tasting, but after a month of soy drinking im actually getting used to it! xxxxxxxxxxxx

Im a new vegetarian and I do want to become a vegan now I dont like the idea of eating any animal products. So Im finding that its much better if you read your ingredient list. And also if you go to the right website you will find that you can get lots of ideas for all your meals so try this site and go vegan www.fatfreevegan.com

I would suggest to you to go to: www.mercola.com

His advice is excellent and you will never go wrong in following it; remember chlorine is a disinfectant and that is what we put in our water and the bottled water is not much better for it is usually six months old or older by the time we purchase; best case scenario, well water that is tested and then run through a charcoal filter for a yummy, sweet taste and water is more important in a vegetarian diet than ever.

you should just learn to like meat. if you were to say.........move to another state like.......texas there is going to be BBQ and beef enchiladas everywere so you are going to have to like meat sooner or later. if you have any questions eel free to e-mail me at smguz78@yahoo. i hope this helps!!

I just made the switch myself. I've been veg for just over a year n finally decided to go vegan. I had no trouble givin up eggs but cheese n yoghurt was a bit harder. You've just gotta substitute wheneva u eat dairy. If u have butter on your toast, try avocado, or banana. or soy yoghurt instead of regular. + u gota try lotsa brands. Every1 likes different tastes. My favourite is So Good Soy Lite. Lite ones usually taste better.

Good luck. =)
