sick huh! and people actually eat the cruelty.
So many people are okay with consuming cruelty but do not want to see it or hear it!
yes, i just read it this morning, makes me happy to have been a veggie - all my life. Thinking of going vegan!
I do not agree with this but - I think more people would stop eating meat due to "bad quality" versus stop eating meat for ethical reasons! -
IF IT BROKE YOUR HEART IM NOT GONNA LOOK AT IT. I CANT STAND TO SEE AN ANIMAL ABUSED.
Oh my gosh! That was awful, I could not bear to watch the whole thing. I was also upset that most of the article was focused on human health eating animals that sick, clearly the cow is worse off then those who would be eating it!
This is absolutely disgusting. I was also disturbed by the person's repeated statements about the "quality" of the meat from the dead cows, as if that was the more important issue. I'm sure none of "America's children" are going to get anything worse than indigestion from eating the meat of an abused cow. The point is the ETHICS of the whole thing, and that is the MAIN issue, but some people obviously don't realize that. So I concur with 'November' above. This is not a "human vs animal" issue at all, since no humans are being abused here.
What kills me is something I read in another article--this guy, Kenneth Peterson, from Food Safety and Inspection Service said that the Humane Society should have contacted the USDA directly. Please. Those jerks are in the pockets of the agency they're supposed to regulate, and the Humane Society should contact them? There are 7,600 inspectors for 6,200 slaughterhouses, and the Humane Society should just contact them? GMAFB. With such poor oversight, is it any wonder groups are going undercover to document abuse?
I mean, what is this guy smoking?
And we are ALL ranting here, so I don't wanna get flagged.
There is nothing more disgusting than the complete lack of consideration that we see in many individuals.
Those sure aren't happy cows like their false advertising suggests...
That's terrible and I hope they get prosecuted. But, it's in no way indicative of standard procedure. If you believe that all of the meat industry employees behave like that then you would have to believe that all humans are murderers when you hear about it on the news too.
I hope that meat they grow in the lab tastes good so the whole animal cruelty/suffering issue can be put behind us forever.
