PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS BEEF IN ALL OF THESE.tRUE MINCEMEAT WILL BE MADE WITH BEEF.!!!! So to answer your question. No you cannot eat MInce Meat.
If you are a vegetarian, you will NOT want to eat it, true mince meat pie is made from beef.
There are jars of mince meat in the grocery stores from which people usually make mince meat pie. Look at the ingredients, or, if it is made by someone you know, ask them.
If you're a vegetarian, you should not be eating a minced meat pie!
It depends on the brand but traditionally they are made from beef. Nowadays, meat pies are more like a "lucky dip" and you're likely to get a very small percentage of meat along with ligaments, organs and all sorts of other disgusting things.
That's an interesting question. Some modern "mincemeat" pies have no meat or meat products at all in them. Ask the cook; or check out the ingredients in "None Such Mincemeat" at your local grocery store, usually with other pie fillings. I don't think None Such, which is the most common mincemeat pie filling, has any meat or meat products in it.
I've made mincemeat from scratch, from an Amish recipe, and it had beef in it. So you just never know.
Are you pulling my leg........
As I would have thought the words "Mince Meat" may have given you a clue!
Sorry couldn’t resist that one..........
However, I understand how some people can get confused, it use to confuse me when I was younger:
There is no meat in a mince pie (as in, Christmas dried fruit mince pies, served with brandy butter)
There is no meat in a mincemeat pie (as in, walnut, pecan and dried fruit pies, served with ice-cream)
However, minced up beef is normally used to make mince meat pies.
General rule of thumb:
Mincemeat = Sweet Puddings
Mince Meat = Meat Pies
But then of course, if it's a vegan mince "meat" pie, beans and pulses have been used as the filling instead.
If it’s a commercial shop brought pie, read the list of ingredients carefully. As I often find what is proclaimed on the front of the packet, often doesn’t match the “reality” on the back of the packet. For example, I recently saw a supposedly 100% pure natural mango juice in the supermarket. However, the ingredients said it only had 3% mango pulp in it, the rest was orange juice, citric acid, water and preservatives.
Otherwise, ask the cook for advice.
I love mincemeat sweet pudding pies but hate beef mince meat pies.
Hope you enjoy it, whatever it is.
.
You would probably want to look after your health. I only eat for enzymes and nutrition.
do you mean "Sweet Mince" that you have in a Christmas mince pie ?
generally its veggie and will be marked as such on the jar.
( in the uk at least )
Mincemeat traditionally contains suet, but is increasingly made without it. It's easy to find vegetarian mincemeat, check the label.
It depends.. ALOT of mince meat pies have no meat in them.. they're apples, nuts, spices, raisns.. etc..
just check the ingredients.. it will tell you for sure..
I love mincemeat at christmastime!!
No.
