Would you still be vegetarian if..?!

Question: Would you still be a vegetarian/vegan if it were a couple of centuries ago, and there weren't slaughterhouses, steroids (and other animal additives), or health stores to make sure you had several yummy ways to get all your nourishment?

Probably not.

I'm glad you have made such a valid point.

Probably not. I'm a veg for health reasons, not for animal rights.

That depends on who I was and where I lived.

If I lived in that time period, I wouldn't be me. I would be a completely different person.

What did some the animals eat back then? Oh yeah plants and grains, I guess I'm covered then! =)

But still depends on where I live and for survival or necessity I would go cannibal.

Hopefully, I would be living on great soil & land, I would make all of my *several yummy foods.* myself.

Even if those things didn't exist, animals would still die and if I wasn't a vegan, I'd be eating really unhealthy food. Vegetables and fruits existed many centuries ago. The food might be bland but at least I'd live longer and so would the animals.

See by nature and built the human body is vegetarian only because the human does not pocess teeth like a carnivorus animal and has only small teeth and molars to eat grass and vegetables and not flesh. Its the scientific development that made the humans to know what is cooking which in turn made the flesh soft and palatable even to humans. Could you imagine if any human being is able to eat fresh flesh without cooking like animals then probably you are right a few centuries ago all were non - vegetarians.

I get my nourishment through fruit, veg, cereals and pulses. EXACTLY the same way as people got all their nutrients a couple of centuries ago, unless they were very, VERY rich, OR went and caught their own meat.

People may have various reasons & agendas for being vegetarians. Many early Christians were vegetarians. Most historians, scientists, philosophers, thinkers and modern environmentalists were vegetarians.

Nevertheless for whatever reasons, put your both palm on your heart and ask...which is right, and which is not. Even a pretty child could answer this question.

Probably still be vegan.

I'd still be a vegetarian, yes. :)

Hi.
Honestly I do not know. It depends where i would have lived back then.

Hope this helps!!! =]

I don't know, as I did not live a couple of centuries ago.

I am who I am partially because God saw that I was born to Ronald and Joanne X on June 4, 1977. That, in addition, to my life experiences has called me to become vegan. I did not grow up vegetarian or vegan, but experiences I had because I married Darin X (who was also born in 1977) and we went to this seminary for his master's of divinity work guided me to become a vegetarian, eventually vegan. Just last year, in September, we were blessed with our Elizabeth, who was called to be born at this time.

If I had been born a couple of centuries ago, even a couple of decades ago, I would not be me. I'm happy being me.

Yeah. I don't need special stores, all I need is my mom--great cook, and vegetarian. She's from India.
