Animals kill eachother for food in the wild all the time so why not us?!

Question: they kill and eat eachother yet you give people a hard time for eating animals. Its the same damn thing and there are millions of animals all over the world so who cares. They would die in nature anyway... another predator would eat them, so whats your deal?

You don't eat wild animals, sparky. Sorry to break it to you, but your cow is not caught running free through the woods, having lived a natural life. You eat factory farmed animals, which is not even remotely "natural." The "millions of animals all over the world" are here because we BRED them to be here.

p.s. you aren't a biological meat eater. You don't have the teeth , nails, or speed to catch a wild animal and kill it with your bare hands and mouth. You don't have the digestive system nor the desire to eat it bones, flesh, fur and all. You recoil when you see roadkill, instead of salivating excitedly and running over to sniff it like a real carnivore/omnivore. You aren't meant to eat meat. Be real about it instead of trying to justify it.

p.p.s. I am flattered you feel threatened by people like me. It's cute.

because we arent animals and we have other food

"My deal" is that, unlike predator animals who have a true spot in the food chain, I have the ability to and the responsibility to weigh the ethical impact of my decisions. I can not only survive, but thrive, on a cruelty-free diet. Therefore, I believe that it is the ethical thing to do. Nobody's forcing you to make the same choice, so relax.

Because people have different belief systems and do the research to find statistics to validate their ideas, and with these validated ideas, they now have reasons to do what they do.

Some people eat veggies and non-meat products for health, others do so out of peer pressure, some do so to impress others, some do so for social acceptance, and others do so because they don't want to eat the cute little baby chicks and cows.

Life is objective and people will do what they, their social group, their family or their religion dictates.

Keep in mind, that many of the same people don't have problems driving cars that pollute the world for people and animals, live in areas that have destroyed natural environments for now endangered species, and many involved in organizations intended to save animals have no problem harassing, attacking and violating other people who do not support their view (Next time I have a Peta member in a cow costume start grabbing my groceries out of my cart and shoving me into a wall at a Safeway, making all sorts of accusations, I am not going to kick in the general groin area, I am shooting).

There is no difference. Humans are animals and animals eat other animals. Always have. Always will. Some humans make food into an emotional experience though. As omnivores, humans can choose their diet.

The fact that you felt compelled to ask the question signals you have at least some guilt though. Otherwise, you wouldn't feel the need to defend yourself.

animals do not torture their food for years and then slaughter them. its quick shift kill.

Plus animals do not hunt for the fun of it, they do it to live. They only kill when they are hungry.

We have so many choices, yet we chose to kill 10 billion animals in the US every freaking year. when you can eat everything healthy for your body from veggie and other non animals.

Humans eat regardless of hunger and they over eat! - seen the lardy fatties walking around America lately!
Please don't make comparison of things you have no idea about!

Well it’s not the same damn thing at all.

Animals raised for human consumption are kept in appalling and cruel conditions.

They are fed things they were never meant to eat to fatten them up for a good price at market (cows eat grass – cows are not meant to eat the ground up bones of other cows and sawdust)

Animals raised for human consumption are kept pumped full of steroids and antibiotics.

Why don’t you watch “Meet your Meat” – you can download it free, do a google search.

If I eat a steak, it comes nicely packaged up from the supermarket. Looks nothing like a cow, so I could eat it. There is no way on earth that I could go into the wild, hunt down a zebra, kill it and then skin it, de-bone it and chop it into steaks. However, I am sure you could, as obviously you are not a very sensitive person.

Hope you "enjoy" the film.

.

We grow them in giant herds/ flocks and pump them with chemicals to be mass killed in a slaughterhouse when we don't need to eat them.

This arguement has been presented before and guess whta we are more eveolved and know more oh for some of us anyway!!

Well, you don't chase down your dinner in the wild and kill it with your own hands & teeth, so you can't really compare yourself to the animals.

Humans breed and raise their meat in captivity, pumping them full of horomones, antibiotics, and subjecting them to unimaginable living conditions and torturous deaths.

Watch the documentary called "Earthlings", or read about factory farming on GoVeg.com. Hopefully this will clear up some of your questions. :)

oh my god!
this question is asked so many times!
you would think that someone (you in particular) would have the sense to look at questions asking the same thing that came way before it enter your head. But know, you want to get people like me mad by displaying how little knowledge you actually have on this subject!

ok let me break this down one more time...People have OPTIONS!!!!! lions cant live off of carrots or broccoli, but we can. we have the choice to say NO to eating meat.

-PS, I'm not mad because you asked this question, I'm mad because of the tone you asked it in! you even had the effrontery to curse.

I could really say a lot concerning this topic. However, this question has been asked a million times, so I'll keep it to a minimum.

We have other choices. Animals in the wild don't kill for sport, humans do.

That was fifteen seconds that I could have used more wisely.

I don't give anyone a hard time for eating animals - do you actually know any vegetarians or vegans?

As humans we have a choice, that's all. We don't NEED to eat other animals, unlike carnivores. But we can if we want. Or not. That's all there is to it. Why does it bother you?
