What would you want to eat as a last regular meal before you turned vegitarian?!
Answers: My husband and I were planning on gradually transitioning, but went cold turkey (pardon the pun) instead. According to my husband, our last meat we ate was hot dogs...
If you like the foods you eat,why would you deprive yourself of them? Why not just stay the way you are...a carnivore!
Grilled Chicken Alfredo =]
Well, I never had a last meal....going vegetarian and then going vegan. They both just happened and I've never regretted not having a last meal.
I'm lucky that it was easy for me. What I remember about my meat comfort foods are really old recipes, as a kid. I guess my grandmother used to make meatball soup, she would make about 1000 tiny little meatballs in a cabbage soup....something like that, but I don't think that its about the soup, more about my Oma's Kitchen, but she is dead, as are my meat eating days :)
(Probably not the answer you were looking for, but I don't ever crave meat...)
Haha, I love being a vegetarian but if I could, I'd probably eat an Arby's Roast Beef sandwich for my last meal. I know they aren't that healthy, but that's the only thing I would want to eat again.
Why would you do that? Animal products aren't all that great tasting. Vegan food I find the best. I feel no person should leave earth without at least trying vegan meals for a week!
I had no idea when I ate it that it was my last meal before going vegetarian, but I had a cheeseburger that was so rare it was practically mooing (I was 16 and too meek to send food back in a restaurant.)
Probably my mom's meatloaf. Not so much the meaty taste, just that feeling of being back at home as a kid - either that or my mum's greasy tacos, for the same reasons. I can't replicate them that well using veggie analogs.
I'll stick with my mum's old veggie foods, though, if I want that happy-homey feeling.
Well, the last meal I had before deciding to go veg was so bad, it pretty much made me decide then and there to go vegetarian. It was these really awful fried chicken wings from a buffet restaurant.
Now, when I look at meaty things, I have absolutely zero desire to touch them. I'll eat my yummy veggie food, thank you.
Interesting question. Hypothetically speaking, every now and then when I watch the Food Network, I see them cooking up "tuna steaks".and for some bizarre reason I think they might taste good. I never tried them before I became vegetarian, and in fact, I hated fish....but there's something about how they sear them in the pan that looks tasty.
I'll live without it though.
Oh an sometimes fishy sushi looks good too, interesting ones with tempura crumbs and Japanese mayo....
