Is soya as a food good or bad to eat?? and why?!

Question: I think that soy is good, but like everything in moderation.

Soy beans can be pesticide ridden, certified organic means not genetically engineered...better. (but people should be eating certified organic cow milk and cheese and meat too....the pesticides they feed cows end up in the dairy....and pork...they give pork a hormone that is so toxic that there is law that says that you can not administer it for 3 months before that pig is consumed, do they follow this rule? probably not)...sorry, off topic (I work in environmental law and my boss knows just about everything on farming laws etc)

So soy is good, but with a balanced diet is better.

:)

(sorry for the ramble....when I learn somethings that shock me, I feel like everyone should know too)

i guess is good.. when i was a baby and a little kid i was allergic to almost everything and i had to eat soya cheese, soya milk.. SOYA-EVERYTHING... and i turned out to be a very healthy person with a slim body, so i guess is good

According to the Food and Drug Administration, it is not clear whether the soy isoflavones used in pills and powders are healthy. However, the FDA says that soy protein in the form of food is healthy and can reduce the risk of heart disease.

"A yearlong review of the available human studies in 1999 prompted FDA to allow a health claim on food labels stating that a daily diet containing 25 grams of soy protein, also low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease."

"FDA determined that diets with four daily soy servings can reduce levels of low-density lipoproteins (LDLs), the so-called "bad cholesterol" that builds up in blood vessels, by as much as 10 percent."

If you buy organic soy, you are less likely to deal with GMOs and pesticides. As for hormone issues, meat, dairy, and eggs have far more pesticide residue and far more hormones than any plant food. Even less cruelly raised animals are slaughtered in the same slaughterhouses as conventionally raised animals, and the stress of transport and the fear of what is happening cause them to release all sorts of hormones into their bloodstream.
