I am a chef who recently became vegetarian!?!
Answers: So how do i go about cooking meat dishes. I dont mind handling or cooking with meat but i need tips for seasoning etc because obviously i dont want to tast it?
I don't see how you can cook meat and not taste it.
An instinctive and integral part of cooking is to taste the food
everyone tests thier work, regardless of thier role in life.
Perhaps you can get work in a veggie resturant or hotel ?
Relying on others to taste the dish is letting them dictate your style and standards. I'm sure you wouldn't want that.
This is not a comment on whether its morally right to cook meat, i just don't see how you can be veggie and cook meat, sooner or later you are going to have to taste it either before serving, because of a complaint, or when devising new dishes.
Best of luck with sorting it out. There is a thriving market for veggie resturants and hotels by the way, our occupancy rate is over 90% compared to an industry standard of 44%
being a chief as you know it you must taste to see if it has all the right seasons to it it not going to be easy unless you change to a all vegetarian chief.
I was in college for culinary arts when I discovered I was diabetic...I had to leave as you have to taste everything...
same really goes for you...it's great that you've made such a wonderful (for many reasons) lifestyle change but you've either got to taste the food or get someone else to help...or leave ...perhaps you can find a vegan or vegetarian restaurant to work at
well get the dish sampled by ur mate or any of your friend
taste & spit lol
yo,
if you ain't tasting your sauces as you go , I don't want to eat at your place.
either eat meat, or cook in a vegan restaurant.
get someone trustworthy to taste it 4 u, surly u got some friends at the restaurant, im glad u went veg.
good on u
but after uve done it 4 a while, maybe u could start some veg. menus 4 other vegitarians, i personally find it extremely hard to find any vegitarians menus because so many people eat meat.
Good luck! :)
