Going veggie need not automatically affect your weight, we see experience of that many times in other q&A to this site.

There are plenty of veggie foods that will put weight on.

13/14 is a common age to turn veggie so that in itself is not a problem.

I would ask your doctor to be more specific about what you would be deficient in if you went veggie, their advice sounds a bit vague. If they say "protein", laugh and send them to me.

There are very few people who cannot be vegetarian for medical reasons. It doesn't sound like you are in that category.

Take your parents to this site so they can learn about being veggie:

This site might help you too:

Best wishes with your choice, i hope you get to change your parents minds through educating them.

If you cannot persuade them, don't beat yourself up, just reduce your meat intake until you able to control your own food intake.

that would make you 91 pounds.Well you sound very young so I'd say if you're over 15, you are smart enough to make sure you eat enough calories and nutrients. Also,I was a similar weight for years no i dont think its that bad but you probably should gain a little more and add some muscle mass : )

Good for you. Most animals used for human consumption are bred and slaughtered on factory farms which are excessively brutal and oppressive to the animals. Anyone thinking that their food was raised on Old McDonald's farm is delusional. You can be vegan and be healthy. I have not yet been able to give up meat which is why I applaud you so much - you are able to do it while I am still wrestling with my conscience. You are awesome and I wish you the best.

I was 13 when i turned veggie and my parents said the same thing. But now theyre also vegetarians! Just because youre cutting meat out of your diet doesnt mean that youre gonna lose weight. I sure didnt. go to www. goveg .com. Lots of helpful tips there. It isnt hard to get a well rounded and tasty and satisfying nutrition being a vegetarian! Good luck and enjoy.

good for you! - I am proud of you for taking the steps. look it an't gone be pretty and an't easy. but you will be healthier stronger, and the best ever. so just do it! stop eating the crap! stop eating meat!

Go and be strong and sexy!

Plan your meals. + there are loads of faux meats, try them too. and most of this stuff you can find in your local food store. -

1) Breakfast: cereal, toast, bagel, fruit etcs.. - this covers your daily carbs, better to have carbs in the morning versus at night.

2) Mid morning: yogurt, apple, protein bar. this will give you energy

3) Lunch: veggie sandwich, grilled veggies, veggie soup with lots of beans - you'll get your proteins and with the veggies, get your "a,b,c,d,e" vitamins.

4) Dinner: big spinach salad, or a leafy green salad, with a main course veggie dish. the salad covers your iron and more protein, with great vitamins. - b12

The main course veggie dish, - you can basically have what you want as along as it not to heavey in crabs. like don't eat loads and loads of paste or bread. but a little is good!
