I try to live a death free lifestyle, and so far, I haven't died. People who are vegitarians are probably the stupidest people Iv'e ever seen. They act all cool and order veggie burgers or a salad at a resteraunt. DON'T THEY REALIZE THAT THEY KILL THE ANIMAL AND COOK THE MEAT ANYWAYS!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Jeez...

for health reasons

yeah thats true what you said. Like animals, plants are growing, breathing, eating living things. So whats the difference between plants and animals.

you should ask one you know then. not all are vegitarians for that reason. sometimes it is for religious or health reasons. i have to agree with your point though. we are carnivores!! see our canine teeth? we need certain trace elements that are found almost only in meat--unless you want to eat seaweed everyday. not everyone has access to that anyway. we were intended to eat meat and need it to be healthy. well, many vegitarians (esp. teenagers) think they are cool and different for following some cause whether or not they use their logic.

It is for many reasons. Some people do it for health, and some people do it for humanity. I do it for both. I have to say I do eat sea food, so that's called a octovor. Meat takes 3 days to totally digest from your system. It's well known that meat these days are full of carasigens.

Jenn...have you seen the sensitive plant? (Mimosa pudica)
It is a plant that when touched, shaken, heated, stirred reacts right before your very eyes by folding up its leaves and shrinking back and then opening up again when the danger is passed. It is also known as the "Alive plant". What about the prayer plant (Maranta) which opens it's leaves by day and folds them up at night, they look like hands praying. Open your eyes and observe plants properly, they are very much alive, they work on different time frames that's why one can't see their movement. People are so ignorant about this.

People become vegetarians because of health, just prefer veges over meat, ethical reasons and when they can't afford to buy meat.

as for your first quote I doubt any educated vegetarian would say such a thing. The second... what's the point. You speak from your own experience and if I told you I could smell the fear and you had something to say about it... What I mean is... now how're you gonna tell me what I can do?

I'm a veg cuz i luv animals and i want to save them cuz they deserve to live too you know and i cant imagine living on other creatures souls :S so i became a veg and i hope all of you will :D

Why do people keep asking this same question over and over again? Plants do not have blood, guts, and flesh the way animals do. The thought of eating that just grosses me out and is kind of barbaric if you think about it.

Yawn. This question is so old.

First, stop shouting. Learn to spell v-e-g-e-t-a-r-i-a-n.

Second, plants do not have a central nervous system, so they cannot feel pain. They cannot feel fear. They do not experience emotions.

Third, if you care the tiniest bit about the plants--and I'm pretty sure you don't--then you'll go vegetarian, too. You see the animals you love to munch on have to eat something. And that something is plants--about five to sixteen pounds of plant food to make a pound of animal food. So you, Mr. Trolling Omnivore, are killing more plants than us veg*ans.

Fourth, you eat plants, too, don't you?

Now, run along and try to come up with a better question.

Plants do not have a central nervous system.
I became vegetarian at a young age because of taste, I'm an Aspie, and my sense of taste is quite extreme (as well as smell, touch, hearing ,etc.)

A a K- "So whats the difference between plants and animals."

The small organ called a brain? Nervous system? neurological pathways?

are you serious? plants arent living beings they dont have feelings animals do.
