Is Water "Good" for You?!
So.. What do you guys think?
Answers: Me and my friend had discussion about whether or not water was good for you today. He said his biology teacher said that water is not good or bad for you. I think water is good for you. He states it has no nutritious value, I said that's true but its still good for you is what I replied..
So.. What do you guys think?
Water is very good for you...it makes up more than half of the composition of the body for everyone. Babies have the most, being born at about 78%. By one year of age, that amound drops to about 65%. In adult men, about 60% of their bodies
are water. However, fat tissue does not have as much water as lean tissue. In adult women, fat makes up more of the body than men, so they have about 55%. Fat men also have less water (as a percentage) than thin men.
You can live for many weeks without food, but only 3-4 days without water (http://www.madsci.org/posts/archives/19...
Obviously, water is a vital component to human life. Without water, we would die.
Check out water at http://whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=foo... It will tell you EVERYTHING you need to know.
yes it is good for you. It has no sugar
yes, water refreshes you and replenishes water that you lose sweating and etc
but too much water is bad for you.. it can flush nutrients out of you... and you can even die from drinking too much
Well, it has no nutritious value but it is necessary & is good for you to drink. It cleanses the body, rehydrates the body & if you're drinking water, you're not drinking pop or coffee.
It's good for you - it rehydrates your body by flushing out salt and toxins and helps your digestion. Drinking water helps push through the soluble fiber you eat so you are not blocked.
If you don't get enough water then you will become dehydrated. If that happens your blood will thincken and your blood gas exchange will decrease. If you dont get enough O2 you will die painfully. So, Ya it's pretty good for you.
Yes it's good for you because if you didn't have it you would die. Also your cells need water to carry out normal processes. Your bio teacher is a retard.
Yes water is good for you. You need water in order to stay alive. You can only go a couple days without water so therfore you need water. It is good for you also becuase it has no calories in it.
Of course water is good for you. Even though it has no nutritional value, what do you think most of your blood is made up of? Water hydrates you, replenishes water loss when it leaves as waste, and quenches your thirst.
I think either you friend didn't hear his professor right or his teacher is off his rocker. If for nothing else, flushing out the kidneys. You can do an experiment.. go without water for a while and drink only things like soda... you'll start to feel the ache in your lower back soon enough. you'll also start losing energy and gaining tiredness on an exponential scale. not to mention the headaches.
It has no nutrituous value, but you do need to have some water in order to live.
however, if you drink too much, you can die of water poisoning. (not joking.)
well when ti comes to nutritional value it has none of that....but see water helps keep your body hydrated, and replenishes what you use up, and it also helps keep everything "flowing"...so in that sense it is good for you
Yes, it is good for you, because naturally, your body has lots of water in it (it think 70%). Obviously, you dispose of water, so you need it back, and the best way to gain water is to drink it. It's definitely good for you because you depend on it with your life, and without it you'd probably die.
Yes, I think water is good for you. =]
Considering the amount of water that makes up the human body - I find the teacher's comments rather 'strange' - or maybe they just misunderstood??
Water is indeed GOOD for you. Lack of it - is dehydration - which can bring about DEATH - which is BAD.
of course its good. it helps to clean your body out. and if it werent healthy, why would we need it to survive? you dont see people eating jelly filled donuts to survive.
Water is the building block of life.
Water doesn't contain any vitamins or nutrients, but if you don't take in any water from food or drink you will die.
Most bodily functions will not take place without water.
Therefore, it's good for you.
Air doesn't contain any nutrients either.
