We're going to stop getting chicken from supermarkets now.
There is a local free range farm where you can see the animals in the fields, which is not only more worthy, but they are well cared for (and the owners are friendly)

You would honestly eat that rubbish ? Standard intensive raised meat is hardly fit for dog food by the time it reaches the supermarkets. Its lived in its own filth for months on end, slaughtered far to early & hung for well under half the time it requires.

lol nice responses ... got to say Tesco dont force you to buy this cheap stuff and if you do you aint getting value for money. Though the "free range" thing is a bit of a con actually there are very few truly free range chickens available and they sure aint available in any suoermarket I have ever been in.
Free range and organic are a marketing ploy designed to allow the supermarkets to charge more. BUT if they are "Free Range" ask yourself what has happened to them after slaughter. That is where the massive profit is made, water injection. Same with Pork and it also explains why when you cook chicken from the supermarket it cooks dry. Seems strange I know but the science is something like this natural fluids in the chicken meat will evaporate at a higher temp than water but if you dilute those fluids they will evaporate at a lower temp. Therefore when you have paid for your chicken which has been bulked up with water the side effect is that you lose all the flavour and proper texture too. Cheap meat is available right across the country generally from markets etc. Go buy it their if you really want cheap. The nutritional value will be considerably less and you will end up having to eat more to feel satisfied. Therefore you will get fat.
