Are there any methods for cooking vegetables that will improve the taste?!
Answers: my doctor has said that i need to cut out red meat, and start eating more green vegetables but i almost gag when i try to eat them. does anyone have any tips for improving the taste?
this i learned from cooking class. simple starters: thin stripes of carrots and potatoes steamed. Sprinkle a bit of salt and black ground pepper...dress it with a bit of sesame oil.......vola! If you are a prolonged meat eater, you might like grilled mushrooms with a bit of garlic and Worcestershire sauce. Chick peas, chopped onions, chopped tomatoes with a bit of light vingeratte and a bit of black ground pepper is also a good bowl.
Ranch Dip?
Grill or Roast them with a drizzle of olive oil. Then take them out and sprinkle with some feta cheese and season with salt & pepper to taste.
Put spinach and other green veggies into a lasagna. You don't even taste them with the red sauce masking them.
Try steaming them or cook them in butter.
My mother steams them in a frying pan with very little water and diced garlic. Turns asparagus from yuk to yum.
steam them, and add a tiny bit of butter (it makes everything better). Or honey (for orange stuff). For spinach, make a brown sugar and bacon bits dressing.
No one said it had to be healthy :)
pepper with the teeeeeeeeeeeniest bit of chicken broth. And I mean tiny. No more than a teaspoon. Also you might want to try boiling them and then frying them in a TINY bit of butter-pepper sauce. Not a lot, otherwise you take out the healthiness. It makes them DELICIOUS

you can roast (bake) veggies in the oven
or even a toaster oven
just cut up some (brussel sprouts are awesome) in half
after washing - then drizzle olive oil - salt and pepper and bake for 15 minutes @ 400 degrees
take them out and sprinkle with chopped garlic
bake another 5 minutes
you will not believe how sweet they taste!

Put them in other flavorful things if you aren't into them as a way to start upping your intake.
Finely chopped - or even using the food processor before you add them to - gravies and sauces, mac n cheese, pasta sauce, meatloaf or meatballs, casseroles, etc.
And the old get-the-kids-to-eat-em trick - pour on the cheese sauce.
Cut peppers, carrots , sweet potatos, onoins into chuncks and roast them in the oven ( add herbs if u like) Lightly pan fry (in low fat spread) cabbage with diced bacon. Eat assparagus with butter and black pepper.
I personally love most veggies raw and dipped in ranch dressing. Or steamed with just a touch of salt if anything at all. Some folks find them more palatable with sauces or butter and seasonings.
If you're REALLY adverse to veggies you could sneak them into things and get them 'painlessly' like zucchini pancakes or something. Really the best way to get your veggies is fresh, organic and raw... but that's going to take some time for your palate to adjust.
Experiment, find what works for you and just know you're doing good by your body.

try googling vegetable side dish recipes. Be creative- you might start liking them better.

To most green vegetables, I would add something like: soy sauce, tamari, bragg's liquid aminos, sauteed garlic, mrs. dash or spike veggie seasoning. For things like carrots and potatoes add: non-hydrogenated margarine, dill, rosemary, oregano, or any number of other spices.
