What do vegans feed their dogs?!
Answers: Celery and lemongrass.
I sure hope it's not vegeterian dog food! Vegans will always say animals have no choice but to eat meat, so that should apply to dogs as well. I don't think a vegan diet would do too well for an animal. I mean they have sharp teeth for a reason!
Very good question!!!..... though I have no idea ....
i don't think Vegans would have a dog in the first place, they'd probably just release it... go little doggy... be free ;-)
Meat! They would be very unfair if they gave vegetarian food to the dog.
Vegans will say that dogs can survive perfectly well on a vegan diet- this might be the case for 6 months but not long term. Wolves will eat berries and bark to survive when hunting has failed but by nature wolves/dogs are omnivores. They have evolved to gorge on huge amounts of meat (very large stomach) and then carry that meat in their stomach away from the kill and spend hours or even days digesting it.
Domesticated dogs are no different. To deny a dog an omnivorous diet is viewed as cruelty by many vets.
I would hope that they would respect the natural carnivorous diet of the animal & feed it good quality meat based products
I'm a vegan and a dog owner. I feed my dog dry meat based food, she eats meat, bones etc.
My husband is a meat eater.
I don't think this makes me a hypocrite, I choose to be a vegan and dont force my views on other people (or animals). But if people ask me why I am vegan, I tell them
There are vegan dog foods on the market that some people feed their dogs though most vets would reccomend giving a dog meat.
Here is an article about vegan dogs for more info.

I feed mine the flesh of trolls, so ... be afraid, be very afraid.
What a great question! The vegan dog-owner is unwittingly reinforcing the arrogant stance that we humans are somehow superior to animals, in this instance by our ability to decide what we eat. The dog, on the other hand, just follows its instinct--which is basically the same as ours--to get its nutrients the easy way: by eating meat. Fascinating...
Tofu and old tires.
I'm vegan but I don't have a dog; if I did, I would feed it meat.
I have a rescued cat; I feed him meat and fish. To do otherwise would be stupid and unnatural. I don't need meat - he does.
At Last-sensible answers from pet owning vegans They seem pretty normal to me. It did set my mind at ease 'cause I wondered if a vegan tried to feed a dog, or cat for that matter, veggie pet food would it annoy the pet so much that they would notice that their owner smelled like prey?
My cat eats normal cat food - meat and fish; I'm the vegan, not her. I don't have dogs, but they'd eat meat if I did.
Edit** Gina C, many 'true' vegans have animals that have been rescued form abusive situations - while I would never have a pet from a pet shop, I saw no contradiction in accepting a mistreated animal into my home.
It is indeed safe to feed dogs a vegetarian diet, but cats ABSOLUTELY not. Humans were not meant to digest meats, our bodies aren't built for it, but dogs/cats and other domestic animals are carnivorous.
Well if vegan food for a dog was unhealthy i doubt they would have it, aso here are some sites for vegan food:

This site also includes other companies that sell dog vegan dog food.
That is an excellent question which I can't answer.
A true vegan will not keep animals as pets...not even as companions. Ownership of an animal is akin to slavery and a true vegan would not even exploit an animal for company. Hypocritical vegans are going to slam me!!! And that's something a true Vegan would never do...because they would be respectful of my rights.
I feed my dogs vegetarians.
when i had a dog i fed her on boiled rice and fish
