Are there any really good cruelty-free anti-aging creams out there?!
Answers: I just recently turned 34 and I try to take the best possible care of my skin to slow down the effects of aging. I know that there are some products that have retinol, but if I'm not mistaken, I think it comes from animal sources. Are there any really good cruelty-free skincare products that exfoliate, increase skin cell turnover, and boost the production of collagen?
I know Estee Lauder and Christian Dior don't make experiments with animals or use animal components (better to check if I am right).
You can find a lot of information about this in NAVS, they tell you which make-up and creams are protected:

Oh yes!
Aging Skin Fighter recipe
2 teaspoons plain yogurt
1/2 teaspoon honey
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
3 capsules vitamin E (equivalent of 300 units)
Combine yogurt, honey and lemon juice. Prick open the vitamin E capsules and fold contents into the mix. Leave on skin for 15 minutes.
Anti-Aging Cream recipe
1 ounce glycerin
1 ounce witch hazel
1/2 ounce rose water
3 tablespoons honey
3 tablespoons wheat germ oil
Combine ingredients in a glass or ceramic bowl and gently whisk until they are thoroughly combined. Store the emulsion in a tightly sealed container at room temperature. It should last for at least 1 month.
Massage the solution into the skin around your eyes and mouth, using a circular and upward motion. This motion will counteract the natural droop of gravity. If you have the time, it's a good idea to hang your head over the edge of the bed and massage the cream in while you're partially upside down.
Cucumber Wrinkle Cream recipe
1/2 cucumber
1 egg white
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1/2 cup oil*
* Use wheat germ, olive or avocado oil.
Wash the cucumber, but do not peel. Cube and blend with remaining ingredients. Apply morning and evening, and gently wipe off with tissues.
Citrus Skin Freshener recipe
This is marvelous for those hot summer days! I like to use it ice cold from the refrigerator. It's an instant cool-down.
1 cup citrus peel (grapefruit, lemon, lime,
orange - whatever)
1 vitamin C tablet
1 cup boiling water
Cut citrus peel into thin strips and set aside.
Add vitamin C tablet to the boiling water, then pour over citrus peels. Let the mixture cool, then strain and pour into a clean container. Store in the refrigerator.
Carolina Cleansing Cream recipe
3 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 cup lard
Several drops peppermint extract
1/2 teaspoon tincture of benzoin
Mix well in a clean glass bottle. Apply to face with fingers. Remove with tissues. Keep in a cool place.

I hope I helped^-^
just remember that if you buy a commercial ANYTHING, at some point an animal was used in its testing. just because a company says it doesn't test on animals, doesn't mean it's not taking advantage of known test results.
I use a scrubbing cleanser at night for exfoliation and moisturizer with an SPF during the day.
But, really, no matter what you do, your face is going to age, you're going to get lines, and it will lose elasticity. So avoid the sun, drink lots of water, and get adequate rest. That's the best thing you can do for your skin.

Added: Retinol is a form of Vitamin A and it does not have to be animal based. There are many forms of synthetic Retinol. If a product isn't specifically labeled vegetarian, or the brand isn't known for being vegetarian, then it would probably be best to contact the company to find out what source they use. https://health.live.com/article.aspx?id=...
