Answers: I have been a veggie all my life, and now a vegan. Yesterday, I went out with friends and we went to Village Inn. All of sudden, I did not know what I could order? I asked the waiter, and he had no idea what Vegan was!

When going out as a vegan it is always good plan ahead to bring some snacks of your own, such as:
Dried fruit, fruits, nuts, vegetables, applesauce, pretzels, soft pretzel, seeds (sunflower, flax, etc), bars, trail mix, vegan granola bars, dark chocolate, & spicy chickpeas.
For work lunches: Sandwiches made with Tofurky deli-slices or a meat substitute, with vegetables (such as lettuce, tomatoes) and vegan mayo (such as Vegenaise), or tempeh, lettuce & tomato sandwhich. Also, the classic PB & J is good, you can spice it up with adding bananas, apples, strawberries, etc to it! Falafel with hummus & avocado on pita bread. Hummus with shredded carrots and celery with a flour tortilla or pita bread. Rice, avocado and peanut butter. A salad, chili, vegan shushi, or burritos are also a good option.
Restaurants: As the manager or cook what vegan options they have, if they do not know what vegan is, tell them! Also there are guides online!

You'll have to do some homework about the restaurants in your area... good luck it's tough when vegan. I am not personally, but have done a few vegan menus... it was challenging
